Rescues. If you buy your size and wear a belt..will they still stretch at the waist? being that they fit 2 sizes up already.

ok i'm still really confused, especially since newer APCs are sized even larger?

mainly because i have a pair of hipsters (made in tunisia) in sz29 that fit perfectly. i also had another pair of hipsters also in sz29 (made in... phillipines?) that fit about a size too large. so will sz29 new standards be too big? will sz28 be too small?

Hello. I currently wear a 36 in PDC GTO's. I would like to buy some two pairs of the NS:One raw and one washed. Since the sizing would be different in the two pairs what do you guys recommend? I do not exactly like a very tight fit, but not very loose either. Thanks.

Does anyone know how the sizing for APC's jackets run? I normally wear M size 38's, would I fit into a Small APC jacket?

where does the New Standard begin to taper? I don't like too much taper, as it makes me feel my thighs are fat, which makes me feel like a girl for having such a thought, and I don't wanna go down that road. So I figured maybe the Rescue was the way to go, but when I tried it on yesterday in NY, I disliked how high the rise was. I liked the NS's waist more. Because I have just barely a 30 inch inseam (with proper trousers, I usually take 29, but I go with 30 for jeans), could I get a pair of NS hemmed up maybe 5 or 6 inches and end up with, essentially, a slightly slimmer Rescue with a slightly lower rise?
Thanks experts

depends completely on the jacket. i sold a size 1 pitch jacket that could easily fit a medium, and it didn't fit me. I got a size 1 shirt today that was very nicely fitted. I have an XS lined F-2 jacket that is a tad bigger w/o layering....but the new lined winter coats sz XS fit me very well. It really is a gamble in EVERYTHING APC makes.

Since jeans shrink after washing it, would it be wise to buy a size bigger than what I would wear? The last two pair of jeans that I bought fit very well. After it's washed, the area near my crotch can get a little tight and uncomfortable at times.

Wear them for a while before you wash them. Once they're worn in stretching them back out after washing should be no problem.

In a word, no. As ppl mentioned earlier, size down 2 for NS, 3 for rescue for a slim fit and 1 for NS, 2 for rescue for relaxed fit. If you're really worried about shrinking and you're going to wash often, go with the relaxed fit sizing and you should be OK.

I'm not sure if I understand you properly. You mean if I were to buy NS, I should go 2 sizes smaller than I would normally wear?

The rule of thumb is 2 sizes less than your normal waist size, yes, APC NS stretch. ALOT. I have a 35" true waist size and bought New Standards in 34 for a slightly relaxed fit. If I wanted them to be quite slim fitting, I'd have sized down two. If you don't know what your true waist size is (different than what you normally wear) measure it, with a measuring tape.

Dear Folks:

I have a pair of APC raw selvage jeans here, labeled waist 36 and measuring 40. What will they shrink to? And how much will the inseam shrink?

I have some nudie svens in 32 and they stretched 2 inches. should i get a 31or 32 for a tight fit in new standards?

Get a 30 or 31, the 31 will stretch to about 33-34. (this is what I wear.)

To refine that to where it begins to approach absurdity, my waist measures about 34.5", and a 33 NS fits me comfortably -- not slim/tight, but not loose either.
But use as a starting point your circumference, not your pants "size", which varies widely from brand to brand (or even within brands).
