I bought a pair of Rescue's in size 29" waist and the inseam was between 36" and 37" depending how the measurement was taken.

They are not remarkably low rise. I think that they should be fine.

What do you mean by that and how is it related to my question? Thanks.

It means that the tightness is in the legs and thighs, not the crotch. Its relationship to your question is that it constitutes an answer.

Can anyone with a size 30 NS measure for me? Especially the thighs. I'd appreciate it. I'm a 32, so i'm gonna measure my current 514s

lol I knew it was an answer to my question, but I didn't get that low rise part. Sorry, I should have phrased the sentence like that, but your response made me laugh.

Sorry don't have the RAW mesurements as I've washed and tumble dried the jeans a few times since new. However, from what I remember, the RAW waist for a size 29" Rescue measured 32.5" (jeans layed flat naturally) and 33" (if the jeans waist, front and back, is lined up evenly). Also, after washing, the waist, leg and length shrunk. Out of the dryer, the fit now is like a new pair of RAW NS in size 30; except the legs are not tapered. Hope this helps.

Ok so...I still haven't ordered APC Rescues yet because I don't want my first pair of nice jeans to not fit. Hopefully, I can get some answers so I can finally order them and put my mind to rest. I'm a size 36 in Gap jeans (they fit fine) and size 36 501xx STFs (unsoaked!) are kind of tight when I first put them on. I've always worn my jeans pretty baggy (the jeans I wore in high school were so baggy that practically no denim would be touching my legs when I stood up), so I don't want to stray TOO far from that, though I have gotten used to the fit of 501s. I want my Rescues to fit my waist when I get them, definitely not loose, but maybe slightly tight since I've read they stretch so much. What do you guys think?

We could use some standards for thigh measuring...

alright i just found out the rescue does in fact come in 29w at the smallest.
i need to find a medium low rise straight cut that's just over 8" at the knee and hem.
