Hey sorry I'm asking such a basic and obvious question but I always get anxiety over large (for my budget) purchases, and I'm new to the nice jeans world so I figured I'd ask and make sure.

I want to buy some APCs either New Standard or Rescue. I like a fit somewhere between normal and slim due to being kind of skinny fat with no muscle making me topheavy.

I just measured a pair of pants I like (J Crew classic fit aka their slim fit) and the waist is a 34 (though the tag says 32), that's my true waist, correct? I like the fit of these pants because theyre just sort of slim, but i could do maybe a bit slimmer in the thighs. Here are the measurements of those pants:

Waist: 17"
Thigh: 12.5"
Knee: 9.25"
Hem: 8.25"

Would this would mean I want APC NS sized down one for 33, or two for 32?

Just ordered a pair finally! $128 shipped to Australia is a pretty damn sweet deal.

I decided to size down to a 31 since my Slim Jims are a 33 and my sz34 Ralfs are a little loose on me now. Hopefully the 31's fit!

You're talking about Rescues, right? Nice, where did you buy them? I've been looking at getting a pair from Denim Bar, but I don't know what size to get (I'm a 38 with pretty big thighs... definitely want a more relaxed fit, but without being too baggy). Denim Bar is also having a sale now, aren't they?

Hey guys, i've done my work on APCs but i'm still unsure over which size to get. I went to a local brick and mortar shop to try and sizes 26 and 27 APC NEW CURE. I couldn't do any buttons at all for the size 26 and had much difficulty even wearing them on. I had to pull it up like hell. For the size 27, i could do like a button or two(i can't remember) but it was still tight. I prefer the size 26's fit, but will it stretch enough?

The best fit for me is probably a true size 35 pair of pants (meaning normally a 34). I'm wearing a pair of 31 apcs. The waist is a tad tight, but the thighs and everywhere else are fine.

Go down at least a size below what yuo can fit into in the store.

Damn, down 4 sizes? Are you freaking serious? lol DO you drink a lot, but have skinny build?

I went w/ the true size and they fit amazing. Relax, perfect everywhere. yes, they are bit longer but over all it's okay. Hope they look nice. these will be my every dayer now.

NC are a lost tighter than NS.
For NS, you can size down up to 2 if you are slim build. 1 if your NC.

If in doubt get your true size or size down at least 1.

They do stretch out a lot though.

I bought these off of someone who had worn them for 2 weeks, so I ddn't do the stretching. But it was more like 3 sizes down which really only equates to 2 real sizes down since APC's are vanity sized.

APCs will stretch 2 inches easily.

My 30" NS now measure 17" across the waist. Take that FWIW.

Well it isn't your "true waist." Your true waist is taking a tape measurer and wrapping it around the smallest part of your waist. Most likely your pants are a little larger than that. Instead of your true waist, that is the waist you want your pants to measure. I'd go 32 NS although you could probably do 31 (my 31s are 17.5 now, but you probably wouldn't stretch them as much.
