OK. Here are the pics as I promised. Be aware that my 5'7"/150 lbs frame can't be farther from a model build - i.e., the fact that I look crappy in them doesn't mean you will, too.

I decided to experiment with hot soak and high tumble dry to get the most shrinkage (length-wise) before hemming my 28 NS after I noticed a crease formed by cuffing.

Here are the steps I took: 1. Soak them in hot water (not boiling hot but definitely hotter than warm) with woolite for two hours. 2. Rinse lightly (my SO wouldn't budge on that one.

) again in hot water. 3. Tumble dry in high temperature for one hour. As I reported earlier, it shrank the length about 1.5" and waist and thigh about 0.5". Waist and thigh stretched back after a day's wear. I didn't notice any significant fading but it did make the denim a lot softer. The back:
