Just a heads up - the Petit New Standards in 28 were a bit too tapered for me. The leg opening was so small that I actually ripped part of the seam on the cuff when trying to remove them! Luckily the folks at the APC store were very gracious and didn't charge me for the damage.

Let us know how that works out.

Thanks masn, now I feel even more like i did the right thing :)

I have a pair of brown APC PS cords and they're a slightly looser shape than the equivalent denim PS. Not by all that much. Not sure the difference warrants a downsize, and of course the waist probably wouldn't stretch like the denim. I think the difference is only to be expected due to the nature of the material.

Have a pair of APC Rescue in size 30 that I bought a few years back. In the beginning they were super tight everywhere, but now they fit pretty well EXCEPT the waist. It seems the waist has stretched more than the other parts such as thighs. Anyway to have the waist go down a little or just wear a belt?

That's common on jeans. Wear a belt.

Gup wearing a belt well help minimize stretching a bit. I wear a belt with all my pants.

Is that meant to be funny?

It was supposed to be funny. The price over at NeedSupply for A.P.C raw jeans tends to be the best, if you can use the code (you used to be able to).

Ah I guess people have different standard for humors.. 15% off is a good deal (expires tomorrow), but I was hoping for something a little more. Im in the process of losing a few pounds so Im in no rush to get it.

Barney's warehouse has the faded black petit standards and some other colors in the $80 range

Can someone fill me in on the intrigue of A.P.C. jeans? I've heard wonderful things about them. How do they compare with say Acne, Nudie and AG?

Where can you buy in Toronto, Ontario?

Thanks

^^^ Sup Eric? I'm in Toronto too and own a stack of Nudies and some APC. What people like about APC are they have good quality denim, construction, and cuts. They're completely minimal with no markings, and most importantly they fade in really nicely. Prices are pretty solid bang for buck and can often be found on sale here and there or ordered online for cheaper.

Where to find in Toronto? A few places... For sure at Holt Renfrew, Dutil, and probably Nomad, Jonathan&Olivier, maybe even Gravity Pope and Due West. Showroom might have them too. I'd say hit up the whole lot in a trip across Queen West.

I usually wear Slim Jims and would say they're like a New Standard, with Grim Tim or Thin Finn like a Petite Standard.
The biggest difference is APC's are usually bought to be raw and they're darn stiff and need a lot of breaking in. Plus they stretch a lot so people need to size down a lot.

In terms of prices, regular retail is +/-$200, online for around $150 but I'm wearing a pair of black PS I got at Nomad for $80 or something because they dropped the model, so I'd say around $100 is a good price, but even at $120-150 is objectively good bang for buck.

PM me if you want more info etc
