Context's chart is pretty accurate in my opinion. I've verified measurements with two pairs.

i've owned both 29 and 30, while i could fit into both the 30s are noticeably larger in rise, thigh etc. as you'd expect. FWIW i am basically same build as the guy above (big pun) and went for the 30. if you're skinnier, you could probably go with the 29.

30 would have basically been TTS for me and noticeably big in the waist. 29 is very comfortable though.

I tried on the sz29 and 30 PS today.
Could fit into both and button both fully to the top. I have a 32" waist.
My thighs measure 22" around.

The 29 felt very tight through the thighs - I'd have trouble with a staircase - pretty much skin tight - the 30 was very slightly marginally better but they were almost slightly loose in the waist band - could do with one inch less.

Should I go for the 29 and hope the thighs stretch? Or the 30 and hope the waist doesn't stretch?

Based on the dimensions, the thigh measures the same, with the only difference being the width from the thigh up. And if this area stretches, I'd be ok with the 29. Ahh confused.

I wanna get a pair of PNS. Petit New Standards. So far I've heard conflicting reports about the sizing, some say it fits tighter than PS, some say looser, so I'm not sure which pair to order.

I'm a size 30 in Dior 19cms. What size should I get?

TIA!!

The Petit New Standards fit a little looser compared to Petit Standards - roughly 1/2 inch larger in the front rise, 1/4 inch larger in the thigh and about 1/4 inch larger in the knee and leg opening. Measure your Dior 19cm and compare those measurements to the size charts listed on the Context site I linked above. APC jeans are vanity sized, so a size 30 really measures out to 31 inches.

In my experience, they stretch out 2 inches when worn - so I would buy them 2 or 3 sizes down from your actual waist size. You should try them on in person if you can.

They still stretch out about 2 inches, right? The last pair I bought was in 2005.

if the thighs are already skin tight, you should get the next size up

the thighs don't stretch that much

if you're worried about the waist, wear a belt

Gentlemen,

I purchased a pair of APC New Standards about a week ago, but there's already been an accident. I spilled a significant amount of ketchup on my jeans after only one week, and I had to wash them. I turned them inside out, used cold water, delicate detergent, and rinsed them as carefully as possible. I'm seeing some indigo loss, but I'm not sure how much.

To what extent will this effect the fading? I assume it isn't a death sentence, but I also assume that my fades won't be as dramatic as some of the fades I see on the internet. What do you all think? Am I screwed?

Don't worry about it.

like you said the fading won't be as dramatic because the contrast isn't going to be as strong but they'll still fade nicely

Editing this post since it got no answers and I figured a lot of things out by myself and still need help.  I live in a country that does not have a store that carries APC, so I have no choice but to buy them online.

I´m 5´9 and weight 154 lbs. My jeans waist is a solid 31, my thighs are 10 inches across calves and knees both around 7.25. I e-mailed a webshop and asked for some measurements on a few specific pairs of apc denim. They took some pairs that they had in stock and measured them, and this is what I came up with:

rrl0.jpg

The ones I marked with yellow are the ones that I thought that would fit me better. I´m looking for a slim tapered fit that is not painted on.

So now I´m stuck between NC 28, NC 29  or PS 28  judging by those measures. Any advice would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks!

haha I remember when I got my first pair of raw jeans. like everyone said, it's cool it doesn't matter. just relax and don't baby them. not only will they end up looking nicer but you'll save yourself from some headaches and stress.

I've been browsing this forum for a few months now but I decided to finally join, as I have an A.P.C question. I bought my first pair yesterday and they're labeled as new cure, but I realized they have the selvedge stitching on the inside of the pant, but I read that the selvedge stitch shouldn't be visible on the new cures, as they're too narrow. While my pair are definitely snug, they're not very narrow. Can anyone offer some insight on this?
