yea new standard is a cut that looks pretty good on most body types as long as you size reasonable not talking like sizing down 4. best thing is you can always get them tapered from the knee down and hem if needed for $20 or less.

I know people size down a lot on APC denim, but would I have to do that for a pair of APC cords? For reference, I wear a 30 in Levis 511s. Would a pair of 29 cords fit me? The price is great...

Measure levis waist look at waist measurement of cords....

I can't tell if the cords "size 29" is a vanity size or not (the website doesn't seem to say), which is why i'm asking here.

Could always email them asking for measurements

levi's are inconsistent even within the same line (e.g. 511s of one color might differ from how 511s in another color, even if they're the same tagged size, fit)

do you have a pic of the kind of fit you want (lol, that i'm knowledgeable enough to help, but to get it out there so that other people can help)?

Anyway, guys, I finally have the money and am definitely looking to get a pair of petit standards. Problem is that I'm a small dude (5'8, ~123 lbs.), and I can't find smaller sizes (looking to try on both a 26 and 27) anywhere except on Context and APC's official site. Context only offers exchanges (no refunds), so is APC's site the only way to go?

Is there any way to get smaller sizes for below retail, or am I just doomed b/c of how small I am?

Did they really? Skin-tight?

I was actually considering even getting a 25, too, to see how that would've went. But I guess not anymore...

Anyway, should've read through the topic more thoroughly since I found places like Need Supply Co., Machus, Eaton, etc. But they don't all offer refunds, which is a bummer.

I'm sure this has been asked 100 times but the search isn't helping:

I have a pair of New Standards that I haven't worn in a couple of years (gained weight and in the process of losing it again). Got them on today for the first time but they are uncomfortably tight in the hips, much as they were when I first bought them. Assuming that they have already stretched before, can I expect them to stretch again, or do I just need to put them aside until I lose a few more lbs?

try to sleep in them a few nights but watch the side seams if it starts pulling apart at the thigh area wait to lose weight.

They probably will stretch out a bit more - but the problem is more so.... are you going to push yourself to lose the weight either way?  Because if so, I would say just wait.... lose the weight... then put them on.  If you are going to put them on now, stretch them out, and lose some weight, they are really going to fit poor.

Are we talking 5lbs or 20lbs?, they will stretch a little in the thighs, but not much.
