I've never tried that with APCs because they're sanforized and I don't think it will accelerate the stretch. I'm sure some other folks on here will know more.

What kind of a different is there in the waist and hips between the two Vaio?

So i bought a pair of apc petit new standards (pns) from the store. For reference, I'm 5'6/5'7 at 140-145 pounds

It was a size 30 (i usually need 32 inch waist pants). They had around a 32 inch waist and fit perfectly in the waist and well as everywhere else. It was still a very slim but not a skin tight fit.

However, I want baggier jeans since I've been hitting gym and squatting. Do you think I should return them and get a 31 instead, or will they stretch out to my liking.

Here are some photos. Its hard to tell but some photos make them look baggier and some slimmer...

Sorry for my English.

Just sent off a pair of APC New Standards to be hemmed at Denim Therapy after a nice conversation with Eric. Now the waiting begins and hopefully they turn out alright.

I'm 5'8''. The waist on the new ones is 27'', the old ones 29''. I don't know the measurements of the hips, but the old ones are about 1'' bigger. So that's about what you can expect... 2'' in the waist and 1'' elsewhere.

If that other picture is the look you're going for, I'd stick with the ones that you have on. No need to size up.

Did you stack? The legs unhemmed must have been long? Those are both 27" labeled but the older pair stretched out to 29", correct?

Yessir, they're both labeled 27 and the older pair stretched to a 29''. No hem or cuff, just stack.

Hope I can contribute for some of the bigger guys looking at sizing.

True waist is a 34. Hips at denim level are 36 or so. Took these tonight at my local Barneys trying on both the current PS and NS, both in a tagged 34.

Ended up purchasing the NS. Could do all the buttons on the 33s for both pairs too, but dem thighs were way too tight. I know all about stretch, etc. been here a while, but FWIW.

Looks solid.

Since APC updated the measurements on the NS about 3 or 4 months back, I believe they added between a half inch to and inch to most places, so it makes sense to assume that the NS this season are meant to be a looser fit than in the past.

I also only downsized 1, mine are almost 4 months in now and they've come along nicely so far, I rinsed them about 3 weeks ago and they feel perfect now that they've softened up again.

Thanks for this! If you read my first post I am in the same boat. True waist is a 33 but where my jeans sit is a 34-35. I don't understand why so many people recommend sizing down from your true waist. If did that my jeans would still be 1" too tight even after stretching 2".

I already got a pair of Naked & Famous Weird guy in Indigo. Do you guys think I should purchase a Petit Standard ? As I saw the measure on MrPorter, the Petit Standard leg opening is 12.5", slimmer than all of NFD Weird guy. Is it worth the money?
