Fit pic:

Petit in size 33. I'm worried that the fit is too tight in the thigh and knee area—lends my figure less masculine profile with ma' curves.

What do you think?

Does anyone know how the sizing of Petit Standard cords are similar or different to Petit Standard denim? I would assume that you would size up from your denim size because the corduroy won't stretch as much, but I'd love a definitive answer.

 

Thanks man. How does keeping them clean prevent crotch tears?

Long wear loosens and stretches the fibers, and washing them tightens them again.

Just got my NS in the mail. They are very nice, but I'm unsure about the fit. I sized down to a 31 (normally a 32). They are a little tight in the waist but with a some stretch will be fine. My concern is with my thighs, which are pretty muscular. Right now they fit too tight for my taste, but was wondering how much stretch I can expect. From alot of the posts I've read people don't experience much of any stretch in the thighs. If that's the case I would consider picking up a pair of rescues and just going down another size. I've posted some fit pics, appreciate any feedback.

Chakmak- I wore my APCs for 1.5+ years, and experienced barely any stretch in the thighs. If the tightness in the thighs bothers you, you're probably best off getting a different pair.

I was worried that would be the case. That sucks since they fit great everywhere else. I guess I'll return and give the rescues a shot.

Solution would be a different brand, no rescues

What makes you say that? Rescues are more relaxed right?

What other brands do you think would be a better fit for bigger thighs?

You might get away with sizing up another 1 or 2 or NS but you should definitely give to a cut with fuller thighs a try (like Rescue), it might end up being more flattering. If you are of 'athletic thighs' group you really don't want jeans that hug them.

Yeah I also got APC in 31 and it was tight in the thighs. I wear N&F slim guy in 31 and they fit a lot better. I should have got a 32 instead in NS but hopefully I'll slim 5-10 lbs in 3 months since I'm cutting down from the Holidays. If they still don't fit then I'll try a different brand or try a 32 next time.

I think I'll try the Rescues. Is the advice on sizing the same as with NS? Size down 1-2?

Do PS's come in a waist bigger than 34?

@chakmak, I'm gonna have to disagree with Vaio, at least in my own case. When I got my NS, I couldn't button the top button because I couldn't get them high enough up my thighs, so I was essentially trying to button around my hips. As a result, I did get a fair amount of stretch in the thighs, so that now they're perfect. I literally couldn't bend my leg past about 45 degrees in front of me because they were so tight. But I got enough stretch everywhere that, like I said, they're perfect. But that's just my case (big thighs, etc.)
