Vents - fit looks good. If you're happy with the fit, I'd say keep them. They'll loosen up some but I dont think the fit will change that much.

I'll try and get some pics up of mine. Only worn for about 2 months but not much change in the actual fit. I was able to button them up easily with sizing down 2 also. Some people say they stretch out a lot and some say they don't. Guess it really does have to deal with how much you size down.

So, lately I've been looking at my jeans and I hate them all. They're all pretty much cheap Levi's 501s, and really I think they are just terrible.

Figured, I'd make the foray into raw denim and from reading around here, it seems there's support for APC as a sort of "newbie" jean that's good quality (also saw Naked and Famous?)

I've been looking a the New Standards but saw there were some issues with sizing? I wear Size 32s, and those are comfortable right on. What I'm not sure is whether I should size to 31 or 30? I noticed on Need Supply, they said to do two sizes down, but the model is wearing a size 31 (and he is usually 32, it says on the site? http://needsupply.com/raw-new-standard-59016.html), and the fit looks comfortable and sort of what I'd like to go for. So that's why I figured I'd ask.

Also, far as I understand, I should soak in the tub with them when I first get them. Hang them up till damp, and then wear them around for a  few hours while they're damp to break them in? I don't plan to baby them, since I'll probably wearing them a ton, and have set aside a little budget for a new wardrobe so will purchase two more if I like them. Is that a good procedure? I'll probably be washing them once every 3 weeks to a month, if not a bit more. So I'm not major worried about creating great fading or creases, that's a little advanced for me right now.

Will constant washing shrink them back? I figure dry them hanging up rather than throw them in the dryer, is the best bet? 

Finally, is there any place to pick these up in Canada that the duties/customs won't be horrible? Or is Need Supply sort of the way to go?

Part of the beauty of raw denim is that it is a "canvas for art". Meaning that they will fade. Washing them repeatedly will take away from the fades.

The reason for sizing down is because APC stretches a lot! You don't want to buy expensive jeans and have them not fit you around the waist. I did this and had to sell them. 

^ I wonder if he got those tapered. 

So my PNS came in today, and i could button all the way to the top with some struggle. 

I've been wearing them for an hour now and im already noticing knee bulges. What the best way to prevent this? For example when i sit down should i pull up the jeans?

im 5'8", 143 pounds on a normal day, 147 on a heavy day. im in between choosing 29/30/31. probably a 30... but maybe 31?
I wear w+h chinos size 30 (31 inch waist)
Diors 19cm size 30 (32 inch waist)

i'm pretty much the same measurements as you. all i can say is that a 29 definitely won't give you that. not sure how much bigger they get from size to size, but from my 29s, i would think you need like a 31 to get that, or a 30 that gets crazy stretched out everywhere

Would anybody with the new PNS mind taking measurements?  At waist, thigh, rise, knee, hem aka standard stuff along with tagged size.  It's for the community 

I'm looking for the skinniest APC model, is that the New Cure or the Petit Standard?

Looks like I'll go for the PS then, as a skinny leg opening is a must for me.
