I could, but I figured someone somewhere has input?

Are the denim cuts just that random when it comes to quality control?

everyone measures slightly differently. idk how different the measurements were that you got from both stores so i have no idea how random you are referring to. generally of course there would be some slight differences in measurements (probably <1/4" imo)

27

knee- 7.25"
leg opening- 7.75"
inseam- 33"

PS

25
Waist- 13.5
Front Rise- 10
Back Rise- 11.5
Thigh- 9.25
Knee- 6.75
Leg Opening- 5.75
Inseam- 34

26
Waist- 14
Front Rise- 10
Back Rise- 12
Thigh- 10
Knee- 7.25
Leg Opening- 6
Inseam- 34

27
Waist- 14.5
Front Rise- 10
Back Rise- 12
Thigh- 10
Knee- 7.5
Leg Opening- 6.5
Inseam- 34

Some things struck me odd. like how the NS has various inseams according to waist, PS doesnt. Size 27 NS is like a boot cut if you look at knee to leg (isn't it supposed to slightly taper) the 25 PS has leg to knee taper of 1" while the 26 has 1.25". so much variance I just want to know what I'm getting and not be surprised by stuff like this. hell i don't even know how to compare to my sizing because i can't tell if context or need supply is legit. the rep did say she measured in stock jeans but still.. doesn't explain how NS is all of a sudden a boot cut?

Why not just keep the ones from Porter? It's not like they're cheaper elsewhere.

Cold-soaked and sun-dried my PS, and they don't seem like they're stretching back out. Did I fuck up by sun-drying? Time to start looking for new jeans I guess.

Sure they are if you look.

Yes, you have totally fucked it up. I am afraid even future APC purchases will be ill-fitting after the irreversible damage of sun drying.
¨
No. I am currently sitting im my APC PS, which have been through washing machines, tumble dryers, bleach, sun drying and bike crashes. And they still stretch out to the right size. I don't think your cold soak has ruined your jeans. Relax.

needsupply on sizing

We have always recommended only sizing down 1 size in the APC PS. They are closer to true to size than all other APC styles. If you are a true 31 than I would think the 30 would work for you. We've never been told that they updated their sizes but they are cut smaller than other APC's and are less vanity sized.

and here i was a fool to think all the sizes were actually 2 inches larger than tagged..... and would strecth an additional 2 inches

How does the sizing of the washed petite standards compare to raw ones? I wear a size 30 in raw navy petite standards, what size would I be in the washed black PS?

My size 28 PS measured an exact 33" around the waist when I was forced to dell them... However the thigh and hem sizes etc, did still remain pretty much bang on true to an average size 28 wearer's size in that sort of style. I couldn't really win with them, perfect round the legs but about 4" too wide round my waist. :/

Will....were yours new? If so I'm sure someone had bought them and wore them for a little bit then returned them.

My size 27 PS measured 14.5 new. I would still recommend to size down 2 on PS, well I guess if your thighs fit. That goes for any company. Thighs matter most IMO.

Need some advice on NS sizing. i'm usually a ~33 waist so i ordered a pair of NS in 31. Fit around the waist is tight, but not uncomfortably so. The thighs are another story. I have to yank them up to my waist and i can barely slip my hand between the jeans and my tight to straighten out my boxers. Thought they still would be OK, but once i looked in the mirror i changed my mind. They looks awkwardly tight in the thigh- skinny, not slim, jeans style. I wore them on and off for a week and still not much better. My gait was awkward and i had a lot of tightness when bending over. So, i ordered a pair in 32. Waist is still OK. Fits about perfect now (i can just barely put my thumb in between the jeans and my waistline). Thighs are still a hair smaller than i'd like, but the fit is much better overall.

I'm leaning towards keeping the 32's since they fit better out of the box, but i'm a little concerned that they will stretch out in the waist and become too big (not unwearable, but just not perfect). On the other i could keep the 31s, but the thighs would need to stretch out at least an inch or so to be not only comfortable, but to avoid making me look like a hipster.

Any advice on my particular situation?
