Does anyone have more information about the new, new "Petit New Standard"? The one that is similar to the NS? I would've like it if they kept the rise the same as the NS but I hear they are lower cut.

They're gonna stretch and make you think everything is OK, to rip on the side stitching later..32.

I dislike elongated, large back pockets. I thought the back pockets of my petit standards were slightly too large. How do the pockets of the New Standard and New Cure compare?? How about Petit New Standard?

Also, how does the sizing work for non-raw jeans, like these:
http://www.apc.fr/wwuk/men/jeans/petit-new-standard-jeans-in-pioneer-denim_pFVC2A8DD/colour-indigo_dBA00003082-BV00299553.html

I've searched for sizing info, but could not find for non-raw jeans. I expect that they don't require the crazy sizing down of raw APCs?

Question re: when to repair crotch

(1) APC New Standard, 2 years old
(2) Beginning to see wear/thinning fabric around crotch area, but no holes
(3) Should I bring them to be reinforced/darned ASAP, or wait until a hole appears?
(4) Anyone know any good, reputable places for jean repair in Toronto?

Please see attached images below:

Also, what to do with that stray yarn?

Thanks

I would pre-emptively repair. I let a hole develop on mine, and I patched both sides when I repaired it. If you're handy with a sewing machine it's easy. Put a patch of denim on the inside, then stitch a zig-zag pattern on it with light blue thread, it will be nearly invisible.

I would also cut off the excess thread and then reinforce it with your sewing machine if it can handle thick denim, hand-stitching that part should be ok too if your sewing machine can't handle it.

Have any full pics? Fades look awesome.

i tried 'em on, check back through my posts if you feel like seeing some poor iphone pics. as to the rise, i'm not quite sure- they certainly seemed to sit lower than my ns but in retrospect that might've been because the waistband was looser so they naturally sagged.
the taper below the knee is quite extreme, the leg opening is smaller than on a corresponding PS, which didn't suit me. i'm sure others will like it though.

They say it's only slightly slimmer than the NS, which sounds like it shouldn't taper more than a PS. Also, anyone have experience with APC's non-raw denim (Like the "pioneer" washes)? I'm thinking that they won't stretch like the raw denim...can someone confirm?

I have a question. I currently have tagged size 28 NC

They're a bit tight especially on the thighs.

I was wondering if I went for 28 Petit standards would they be a bit looser in the thigh area/calve area?

Or should I go with a 29 in NC or Petit?

no, go for a 29 in the PS

Apc's fall collection is pretty decent (and the SAs are smoking)

Kinda want the green faux fur parka and the navy Mac

Hmm, from my experience, the PS has more room in the thighs than NC, so you could probably just go for the PS in 28.

Also, has anyone found measurements for the new Petit New Standard cut?

They won't stretch like the raw denim.

Some measurements according to Oi Polloi regarding the raw versions of the New Petit Standards can be found here. Original PS here.
