A.P.C. The official thread for APC questions. - Page 713

Read 30 pages, still can't determine if I made the right choice. Can I get a bit of insight?

I measure 32' at the waist. I wear 31' suit/chino size. I bought 30' APC NS Petite.

Did I make the right choice? I would've gone to a 29 if they were straight leg, but for a skinny fit I'm afraid I can't even put them on to go out. The fact that they're labeled "petite" made it even more intimidating to my slightly wide hip frame.

I think I can still cancel the order from Mr Porter and replace it with a different size.

155lbs

6ft

*Edit

Okay read more and ordered a size 29' from TBS, while canceling the 30' order from Porter. Saves me around $40 bucks too. Hope I can put on that top button.

you mean petit standards, right? i would say that by the sounds of it, sizing down 2 is correct.
it is possible to size down 3, i have a 32" waist and had a 29 briefly, but they were super-skinny and i gave them up after a week or so. and FWIW i have skinny hips..

They were comfortable in the seat and thighs but a bit loose in the waist so I'm sure they'd end up too baggy. Tried on 31s that measured 33" and man was it tight. Had to really suck in the stomach to get it buttoned up, and the seat and thighs were like spandex. No idea what size to go with or if the 32s I tried were abnormally large.

I would guess they are returns or have been tried on quite a few times.  However, that is the size they will stretch out to, or maybe a bit more.  If the 31s don't work you probably need to try a cut with some more thigh room.  You didn't mention what style you tried on.  My new standards are a bit loose in the waist, but they are super comfortable when sitting and driving, which I'm actually doing most of the time :/  Maybe I should have gone down to a 33, but I just couldn't risk it after struggling through a pair of new cures.

My new cures were tight in the thigh, but stretched out after a few weeks - however, I'm not too excited about the look now that they've stretched, liked them more a week or two ago.

HI there!
I'm planning on buying a new pair of raw denim. More specifically a pair of APC's. Up until today I was 100 % sure that New Stadard was the way to go for me, since I have legs a bit on the bigger side (f u genetics). But today I found out about the APC Petit New Standard, and I wonder if I might be able to squeeze into those. I'm a (I guess) size 29. Does anyone have some measurements for the Petit New Standard in a size 29?

How is the fit of the APC white Poplin Shirt without visible buttons?

They were the New Standards. I think they probably were a returned pair since they're usually 2"+, which would explain the gap in sizing between the 31s and 32s. The 31s were absolute torture but the sales agent recommended I stick with them. 32s were still fitted but comfy and allowed me to move and bend.

So the apc new cure 25 came in and I was able to button all with ease. Opted for the ps 26 at context. Let's see if they work out since they are tts. They should stretch in the waist even though I don't neccesarily sag correct?
And can context (if anyone knows) lower their 2 day shipment cost? It's pretty high at 35 dollars where lagarconne charges 17 and ssense charges 25 from Canada.

The reason I prefer my own pants to have little to no break is because I am only 5'7 high and feel a slim, yet not skinny, silhouette compliments my body the most.
I do neither like the sack many of the older MC guys prefer nor do I think skinny jeans do very slim guys like myself a lot of favour.
Regarding stacking, I think it looks better with skinny jeans, which I don't wear, than wider cuts like my NS.
I tried stacking my NS when they were new and thought it looked off because there was just too much fabric flaring open horizontally.
I feel it makes me look even shorter than I am.
Also I don't wear sneakers but loafers, mocassins, boat as well as dress shoes, which in my opinion just don't work with stacking.
I know TKE is more of an MC guy too, so that's why I advised him to do the way I would do it, but I see the appeal of stacking and can even enjoy it in some outfits of others.

louis mind me asking what size new cure your wearing? also weight? we are the same height thats why i ask. i'm looking to buy a pair of brand new, new cures soon.

take care

crosswound,

the picture I posted was of TKE. He is wearing a size 28 NC.
The only pair of APCs I've got is a size 28 NS. I am 130lbs/60kg.

Lol. im 170lbs, was wearing a 28 NS til very recently smile.gif

(my gf labelled this the 'aging hipster' look).

and fwiw, my thoughts on stacking are that it only works with smaller sizes (and correspondingly smaller hems). i think around 7.5" is the maximum that works. above that, hemming looks better.
