I own a pair of N&F skinny guys in 33. They have stretch fabric so haven't changed size, and I've since decided that the thighs are too tight, the rise far too low and that I'd like a bit of taper in the calves.

Petit standard seems like the right move, can anyone with experience of the PS and skinny guy cuts comment if the PS has a higher rise?

Also I've not been able to find any, but worth asking - does anyone have fit pics of just sizing down one on the PS? I'm not really interested in not being able to do up the top button for a month or whatever.

I have a pair of PS 26 indigos for sale. Looking for a size up (27). Let me know if anyone is interested!

Props. I'll be checking that out tomorrow.

fyi, got an email from Context, they measure the new standards with the dip in front instead of lining up the front and back waistband which might account for the smaller measurements...

Quick Question for APC Owners:

I just got a pair of new standards which I sized down 1. The fit is spot on every where. The waist right now I could button and is tight, not like super constricting tight though. If I wear a belt should I be fine and the waist wont stretch out too much? Just trying to get some input from someone with experience with this denim regarding my particular situation. Thanks

^Yeah, if you wear a belt it should prevent the waist from stretching out. That being said, I've worn my apc ps for more than a year without a waist and the waist hasn't stretched out much at all.

i think max r said he had a tailor let out the selvedge line, which added a bit to the calves, so i'm sure it's possible.

conversely i have just had my new standards tapered by half an inch. i think these little alterations are a good idea, they can make all the difference to the way jeans fit.

Good stuff. Thanks for clearing up that source of confusion.

Weird about your waist not stretching out at all, Vaio. I've never heard of APCs not stretching. I'd say, MillerTime, wear a belt, but expect stretching anyway. But don't fear it. If the fit is spot on everywhere else, a waist being stretched out is no big deal. And if it's tight right now, it won't be a terrible situation going forward. enjoy.

^^yep APC will stretch in the waist even with a belt.

Haha well... I tried on a pair of 32s in store today and they measured 35" in the waist for some reason (front and back waistband aligned, laid flat, no dip in front). Maybe someone stretched it out? They were comfortable in the seat and thighs but a bit loose in the waist so I'm sure they'd end up too baggy. Tried on 31s that measured 33" and man was it tight. Had to really suck in the stomach to get it buttoned up, and the seat and thighs were like spandex. No idea what size to go with or if the 32s I tried were abnormally large.
