29,5", sized down 2.5"

I hate how the leg joins the thigs on the photo.. it is less awkward in RL, problem is my legs are a bit crooked, this is especially noticeable when standing still and facing front.
Here is another picture:

sheep, you should check out W+H jeans in slim cut (skinnier) or PBJ XX-011 (tapered but not as skinny)

I have an odd question. How do you guys go about getting your jeans hemmed? I have been going to an alterations/ tailoring place and have had three pairs of jeans hemmed. The hem job they do is really good. They do a great job matching the stitching and the sewing is real good. The only thing I can't seem to get across to them is the length. The have me try them on then roll them to my desired length. Upon picking them up all three pairs have come back different then what I thought they would be. Is this how you guys do it or do you just get a desire length such as 32 inches? I recently got my APC PS hemmed and they are still longer than I would like. Just wondering if I am doing this process correctly?

Also, if I were to soak them now to try and shrink them would this ruin the fading I want to achieve? They are 3 weeks old.

The problem with hemming could be one of two things.  It could be that the jeans look different rolled than hemmed, so a good rolled length isn't a good hemmed length.  Or, it could be that you have a bad tailor.

I've had many pairs of jeans hemmed, and IME they always look different than I had expected once I get them back.

Go ahead and soak - you'll barely lose any indigo.  I soak or wash my jeans every couple of months (inside out), and the shrinkage helps the fades (tighter jeans = more fades).

Cool thanks. Anyone else for or against a soak on my 3 week old APC PS?

Has anyone been to the APC store in West Hollywood recently? How is the stock? It's a longish drive from me and was wondering if it's worth going there and trying a bunch of things on or just ordering online based on measurements and educated guessing.

I don't think the inseam will shrink a lot. It will of course get A BIT shorter, but not the amount you would hem them for.
Why don't you roll or let them stack?

I'm thinking of getting the "lightweight jeans". I'm usually a 30. but Barneys only has 28. I assume these aren't raw denim ... so am i still suppose to size down?

This may have been asked before but this thread is now 695 pages long!

definitely size up on the lightweight. If you're usually a 30, I would get a 32.

got my ns sz 28 tagged.

waist measures fully stretched: 37,5cm : 14,76 inches: 29,5 true waist.
so not 2" vanity but still bigger then tagged.

also confused by the new sizing debate.

had a new pair of ns 32 delivered today. the waist measures about 16 and a third inches laid flat. i'm a true 34 waist and I can't do the top two buttons up - not even close. Pretty much painted on on the thighs - seem impossible small.

Confusing because I already own a pair of ns in size 32 which fit me well. I bought them second hand though they had very little wear. They were also too tight to start with - although I could do all the buttons up - but then stretched out nicely as per usual with apc.

What I guess I'm asking is: is it normal not to be able to do the top two buttons up having sized down 2 on new standards? I always assumed this meant you'd sized down too much but I know size 32 fits me, unless the sizing has changed that is...

theyre still vanity sized, but just not as much. just take a look at my measurements in my for sale thread.

oops, forgot about that cut. i stand corrected redface.gif always see only 003 and 008 cuts mentioned which are the low rises.

i have yet to see a fit that makes 030 look good though, a lot of the time they're super-sagged like in that BiG pic
