A.P.C. The official thread for APC denim sizing and other questions. - Page 57

Hey chrono, I got some advice from you about APCs and Nudies a week or so ago. I think you and I are really similar in size. My actual waist measures a 32 but I think from now on I need to go with a 31. I ordered the Nudies in a 31 but I am sure it's going to be huge and fit like a tent after they stretch. They haven't come yet, but I'll likely be sending them back to get a 30.

When I order the APCs (when Denimbar gets them in stock) I'll be getting a 29.

Thanks for the advice. You told me to get a 31 but I think I should have made my measurements more clear and people would have recommended a 30. Oh well, at least I won't make this mistake again.

By the way, I got an awesome deal on them, but shipping them back is gonna run me around $40.00 including shipping the 30s out to me.

Yea, it's hard to accurately portray measurements and stuff like that online.

The best advice i can give any newer person looking for sizing advice is to find the jeans that fit you the best. Measure them thoroughly (i suggest the BiG method since most members know it). Then take note of what you like and dislike about the fit of the jeans. Could it be a bit snugger in the waist? Maybe you would like the jean to have a slightly higher/lower rise and be a bit more/less tapered? This way you can find compare measurements on people's jeans in sale threads/websites to your own measurements.

Ok, so I thought I'd try a pair of NS....only other nice denim I have is 5EP LDB resin that are size 30x32. I like them a lot, but don't wear them a ton, mostly because I don't want to ruin them at work as I've been wearing jeans more at work recently. For work I have an older pair of Lucky's (whatever the straight leg model is) that are a size 29 waist (stretched to about 32")...mostly because if they get trashed I don't care, and they didn't come with heavy wear or wiskering. I read through this thread and ended up getting a pair of 28x34 NS....I can button them and all that, but damn....not what I was expecting. My wife made some comment about wearing tights (gotta love her...) and the seem just way too tight to ever wear. Do these things stretch out THAT much? Maybe the NS isn't my style, I thought they'd be slim, but not skinny.

just to add my experience with my APC NS in response to the last few comments.

my actual waist (tape measure) fluctuates bewteen a 32.5 and 33, depending on weight. i wear 32 in most pants and denim. i went with the 29 in NS. i could button all buttons at first no problem, but they were very tight, to the point that my wife said the crotch was nearly obscene.

2 1/2 months later, they're perfect. still slim, but stretched out through the seat and the rise. i've been putting 5-6 days of wear into them per week, and the fades are just starting to show beautifully.

Are they still skin tight at the calves? I have an unwritten rule that I should be able to at least squat in my jeans...hadn't even thought of it before these

slim, but nowhere near skin tight.

Yeah, I'm thinking I should look into getting the Rescues rather than NS....

Sounds like it. If the waist is fairly comfortable to slightly tight, but the legs are just too slim, I'd go with Rescues instead. And you should wear them at work! IMO APCs are meant to be beaten up. For such a relatively thin denim, they're tough as hell.

I carry two wallets and other gear at work so I'd have to be able to get my hands in my pockets and run and schitt...so guess the Rescues are what I am after. Back to the drawing board...between this and my recent buying the wrong size Blundstone experience my lady thinks I'm totally freaking nuts

I have read through way too much of this thread and still not found an answer to this question so...

I got NS 33's and they were really baggy (should probably sell them online) so I just ordered New Cure 32's which fit a little snug in the waist, maybe not snug enough with all of the stretching I am hearing about but anyway my main question is do the thighs stretch out a lot in the New Cure and how about around the knees? I like the way they look and I want them to be pretty much skinny jeans but they are a tad to tight in the thighs and I can't bend my knees up all the way in them which I am really not cool with. If anybody has had New Cure's thighs and knees stretch out how long did it take, how much did they stretch and would getting them damp and riding a bike or something like that really help all that much.

thanks in advance

I'm planning on getting my first pair of raw denim and decided to get a pair of APCs NS. The problem is haven't decided if i should get a waist size 28 or 29.

For reference, i'm about 5'9 and my weight is 149 lb

I have a pair of Levi's 511 ws 32 which are really loose on the waist(and everywhere else, should have sized them 1 down..) after a few hours of wear. Pic for reference.

I also have a pair of 514 ws 31, which fit alright on the waist, but stretch a bit afer a while and have to use a belt to keep them from falling down.

I measured the place where my jeans usually sit(about 2.5 inches down from my bellybutton) and got 34'.

So i'm kinda confused on what i should get . I live in Mexico so changing them in case they're not the correct size would be kinda expensive.

One last thing, can any one recommend me an online shop that carries APC's and ships worldwide? I tried context but they're out of NS. I'm thinking on ordering directly from the apc.fr site but i'm not sure how long will the shipping take or if they even ship here.

They stretch in the thighs and knee. Basically wherever it is tight, it 'll stretch. All jeans stretch quicker while wet. It'll take usually a week or so. Be patient.

Try ordering here as it helps the forum and it'll be cheaper

As for sizing, it depends on how slim you prefer your jeans. If you're a true size 31 then you can get away with a 28 after they stretch but they'll be pretty tight at first. I don't think a 29 would be a disaster though. Check with tobi.com for their return policy.

Hey, i'm trying to figure out sizing for apc new cures. I'm 6'0, 145lbs. I typically size 28's, im wearing overdyed black cheap mondays that are 32s right now. I'm thinking i'd go for 26? But is that incredibly small? Would it not work for me? Does anyone know of any online retailers that have sizing this low in stock for APC?
