You can try www.tobi.com, but you cannot order online. It states that you have to call to order, which I am guessing means they don't have any in stock. Otherwise, we are still waiting to hear from Context or Denim Bar for their date to have these. I too am waiting on someone to get them in stock so I can order.

You could also call Denim Bar or Context and check with a live person and then order over the phone.

Nevermind just called Tobi and they had them in stock, complimentary shipping and 10% off.

120's area as opposed to 149 ups ground from apc.fr.

OK guys, I went to the shop that sells APC in Zürich, it is called "Apartment"

I tried on several, New Standards and Rescues

NS in size 31 and Rescues in size 30 fitted perfectly.... I like more the rescue however.

The sales guy told me I should get them tighter as they will stretch

So I tried on the Rescue 29 that was still good looking but tight. I found The NS in size 30 too tight.

Is that normal ?

And also, how about the consistency in the sizing ? If I order them direct from apc.fr I'd save $20 in each jean, so I'd maybe order them online. But can I expect all rescues 29 to fit the same way ?

I'm not sure on consistancy but the clerk is right that you probably want the jeans that are too tight on you at first rather than the ones that fit good right away. A lot of first time buyers make that mistake and are slightly dissapointed with a relatively relaxed fit pair of jeans after stretching for a week or two. A lot of people refuse to believe the forum when they say that the jeans stretch out crazy fast. They kind of stretch to a fault. General rule of thumb is 2 on new standards, about 3 on rescues or until you can just barely button them up and they're real tight. And that advice isn't for a skinny tight fit or anything. Just comfortably slim.

And what about the model ? which one you like best, the New Standard or the Rescue ? ( or both ? )
Depends on your body type and desired look. If you want a more relaxed look go with rescue, if you want a slim look (but not tight at all) go with the new standard. If you want a really tight look, go with new cure (but i doubt you want this).

Just wanted to say you've been really helpful in this thread chronaug, thanks.

I'm having real difficulty deciding which pair (NS vs. Rescues) and what size (32 vs. 31) so I will have another read over the 40 pages to try to decide! At least at $140, the risk is pretty low.

You really have to try them on and see how they look on you.

I was ready to buy the NS and then tried on a rescue and this flatters me much better...

But you'd need to size one down in the rescue.

I normally wear a 501 31x32, but as I gained some weight I must lose, now my waist at the belly is 34" and 33" at the pelvic bones.

So the NS in 31 and the rescue in 30 fit me perfect. I understand I have to size one down so the NS 30 and rescue 29 would be the ones to buy.

I like better how the rescues look on me and they feel more comfortable even sized down and really tight... so this would be the way to go for me.

Just curious -- has anyone else found that the APC NS has too low of a rear rise for them? The front rise is pretty generous, so I was surprised by the short rear rise...
noob question, but how much do apc's runs for? and what are the best styles/cuts
post #628 of 13582
I'm very confused as to which pair to get Rescue or NS as well.

I heard the Rescue is for people with larger behind and that is not a problem I have, and it might look stupid to be baggy back there so NS it might be.

I have a larger shoe size though, US13, I dont want the tapered NS bottom to look stupid.

you were the one who posted about your hip flare problem, right? a low rear back rise definitely helps to deflate the bubble butt AKA "duckwing". (Sorry to hear the jeans didn't work out btw)

Yeah, the hip flare problem was eliminated in other jeans with a reasonably slim top block (Iron Heart 643S, Eternal 811), and the APC NS also caused absolutely no flare, but in the back they looked very unflattering on me due to the low rear rise. The NS is often touted as a "universal fit," so I was curious if anyone else has experienced this problem. Thanks for the deal on the jeans, by the way. I'm glad to have tried the NS, and it's probably a good thing to have narrowed down the range of raw denims I'm interested in!
