A.P.C. The official thread for APC denim sizing and other questions. - Page 28

Hipsters are awesome, I actually like them better than the NS. I have tiny hips and the lower rise suits me much better then the (what I feel is) high rise on the NS. I'm normally a 29 and sized down to a 27 (could have gone with a 26 I think). They fit damn near perfect now, though maybe a little loose in the waist.

APC New York is telling me that the APC Rescue in size 36 measures a size up
(37---38 post stretch). From reading these threads I always assumed that the 36 Rescue would measure (pre-wear) more like a 38-39. Am I misunderstanding them or this pretty much correct?

i recently bought a pair of rescues. im usually a 35-36" waist, so i sized down and bought a pair of 33". they were tight at first, but after 3 weeks of wear, they are baggy.

the 33's were tight on the thighs, but the waist worked itself out very quickly.

hi guys i just got interested in raw denim... i love the idea of a custom fit and wearing in the jeans yourself... ive heard tons of good things of APC NS jeans and the denim bar is right down the street from me so i wanted to go check them out. i was curious about how heavy the denim was for the NS? as it is almost summer and i dont want incredibly heavy jeans that will make me sweat nonstop.... should i hold off on APCs/raw denim till fall?

They're pretty lightweight. They're not gonna be mall denim thin, but they're much lighter than the japanese jeans you'll see people talking about here. I think i heard 12oz or something. I still can't find a good side by side measurement for old vs. new cures. Anyone?

well in some of the nicer stores in the malls they have this sort of summer jean which is extremely lightweight denim... its perfect for the summer!

mexx for example has some.

I feel like a noob, asking an APC sizing question BUT I was wondering if anyone could supply me with waist, thigh, and hem measurements for a size 26 Hipster - preferably stretched out but unworn measurements would be alright too. It's for a friend of mine! Thanks

I'd pull down those hipsters a tad bit onto your hips. They look like you have them hiked up pretty high.

dcc, you mentioned them being pretty tight in the thighs. Are they still tight or do the thighs loosen up as well?

Are those boots adding a lot of height?

Either way you have long legs, (I mean that as a compliment, I think my thighs make my 35" inseam wearing legs looks short).

I'd sya just wear a bit lower, but thana agin my high-jean wearing ways are a bit different than most on here.

I'm looking to order my first pair of APCs online, but wanted to double-check with you guys on the fit/sizing first.

Size 33 Paper LTDs fit me well as do size 32 Ben Shermans. I'm a bit thicker in the thighs - not fat by any definition, but not skinny enough to get on any slim-fitting jeans (I'm 6'2 and about 186 lbs. if that helps).

Should I be looking at NS? Or another cut? And in what size? 31 or 30?

Which jeans fit you the best? I'd size down 2 from whichever jeans fit you the best. If your 33 PDCs are a bit baggy on you and the 32 Ben Shermans fit you snugly in the waist, i'd go for 30s. People aren't kidding when they say these jeans stretch a lot so if you're not sure, i'd go with the 30s as they will most certainly stretch out enough after a week, especially if you wear them a bit damp. They'll always look a bit too slim at first and almost too big after a few weeks.

Oddly, the BSs fit me a little larger than the PDCs but I see your point. If I go with the 30s, will they stretch to the point where they fit even if I should have gone with the 31s? By the sounds of it, they will...and I should always err on the side of too small.
