I wear a 31/34 in levi 529's and I am thinking about getting some APC, I have never bought raw denim and thought they would make a good first pair. I am concerned about getting the right inseam I have long legs and think that if I size down to a 29 that the inseam will be to short.

any other suggestions for a first pair of raw? I am looking to spend like 200 or so...

Thanks
P

Does anyone have an actual measurement chart of APC jeans? I was wondering how say a 31 cure would with compare to a 30 new standard.

Is it normal for the jeans to be supertight? I was at Stel's the other day and the lady told me to try a size 27. I swear the pants fit me like a pair of gloves. It was supertight and she said it'll be fine because the denim will stretch in days if I wear it for a long period of time. Is this true? The pair of jeans was so tight that I couldn't sit without feeling some resistance and the area near my crotch is really tight.

i just went to the apc store on mercer st in NYC. got a pair of the NS's in 29. hard to button. i wear 32 in 7's, and where i wear them on my hips measures 33".

i think its safe to say size down 2-3. my 29s seem to have a 15" waist, so closer to an actual 30".

hey,

this isn't really a question about sizing on the apcs...

i just got a pair of apcs, and the waist is fine. however the inseam is 4" too long... I'm thinking about hemming some of it off but first I need to do a soak to get rid of the shrinkage...

should i do a cold or warm soak? wouldn't a warm soak get all of the shrinkage out while a cold wouldnt? and woudl a lot of indigo leave after a warm soak opposed to a cold one?

thanks

Does anyone have any measurments to compare APC NS 29 and APC NC in 31? I need a 29 in NS but i like the inseam of the size 30(i think it's 34" compared to 36" and i'm a bit over 6ft). I was wondering if i'd get a similar fit in 31 new cures. Would the waist or the rest stretch out too big for me, because i want them to be pretty slim still after a bit of stretching(which is why i want 29 NS instead of 30). I'm about a 32" true waist and usually wear 33-34 inseams, however, i loved the stacking the 30 NS gave me with the 36 inseam being tapered and all. I figured i'd ask people here for experience before ordering from denimbar. I was gonna wait to see if the denimbar site had measurements, but lord knows when the site is going up, can't wait though.

Do the same rules of thumb re: stretching and sizing down apply to the OD black NS and the raw indigo? Also, who carries the OD black NS and does phone orders? Is the only way to get them to call APC directly? Their site says all sizes are currently sold out.

you won't lose a significant amount of indigo doing a warm soak. be aware that one soak probably won't get ALL of the shrinkage out. It will take care of a good bit of it though...

I'm new to the dry denim thing, so bear with me. I normally wear 32/34 jeans (I'm 5'10, but have a long inseam), although I fit into a 30/31" waist. What size APCs would you recommend? One other thing: my thighs are fairly large, and I prefer not to have jeans that are too tight. Would you recommend the Rescues over the regular NS in this case? Would the NS stretch in the thighs? I have a pair of Saltworks BedfordStreet jeans, and those are a bit too tight in the thighs.

I would go with APC NS in 29 or 30. Rescues are a bit roomier in the knees lower legs but not so much in the thighs IMO, and you'd want to size down further with those, maybe Rescues in 28.

hey how much do thighs/shin/leg stretch out after extended duration of non washing? i'm assuming not as much/at all compared to the waist/seat area

I think they do stretch a fair amount, but it really depends what you are doing in the jeans. APCs stretch a shitload compared to other brands, but that's well documented here.
