awesome thanks. i have an instore credit so i have to wait for barneys to get a size 33 instock. i have fairly big legs (ex-baseaball/ basketball player. plus i work out alot) so i know they will be a tad tight in the thighs. iron army hiro ito's were way to small in a 32 for my legs and waist. for a comparison

I'm really really bored so i'll bite APC what? I'm guessing you're really a 33 in Gap straight fit since most people not on internet clothing fora buy jeans a size bigger because it's more comfortable. So i'd go with 31 in APC NS. Stylish Pilot: See if you can use that credit through a phone order at a different barneys location that has them in stock if you want them sooner. Or buy them from denimbar and use that money on something else at barneys. F/W stuff is on sale so i'm sure you could find something cool.

Hi.
Im getting 2x pairs of A.P.C. One is New Cure (i want them to be tight almost skinny). The second pair will be New Standard (i want tem to be tight).
The nudie LSJ i got is 32/34 (they go almost skinny)
That will be (nudie's): 32' waist. 34' insteam. 11.4' knee. 8.4' knee & the leg opening. 44'4 lenght.

What size should I pick for NS & NC?

I've only got the New Standards. I sized down two for a regular fit. Any tighter than that and you are looking at sizing down 3. If you think you can go tighter you could try 4 but I wouldn't recommend this. Also, mine don't really seem like they stretched but they definitely do fit better than before.

The thing to consider though is that maybe for you, sizing down 2 from your regular size might be a tght fit. It is for me, around the thighs. If xchen has pretty skinny legs, then it will be a regular fit for him. It's all relative, don't forget that.

This is very true. There are a ton of factors involved here.

yup, and should they be too tight for you in the thigh if you size down two, maybe it's not a good cut for you. I say this because if you went up a size, it would be larger in waist then what you normally wear (i wear a 30 NS and 32 in most jeans so if I went up a size to a 31, it would really measure out to a 33, 1 inch bigger than what i normally wear).

And when you do that.. you end up with a baggier waist. Some people don't mind that but I think that's finding a cut that doesn't really work for you because it should fit your waist snug which is to say correctly.

I think that people are often looking at the wrong cut but are willing to size up to make it work. The fit ends up being not so flattering. If the thighs are too tight with sizing down 2, i suggest looking at rescues instead, in which case you'd size down 3.

Sizing down 3 on a rescue is the equivalent in waist reduction as sizing down 2 on a NS

You're getting new cures as well so I take it you might not have this problem.

I checked out the "surplus" store in Williamsburg today. If you're in the market for outerwear, don't sleep. Lots of jackets, hoodies, windbreakers, blazers. All the scarves and gloves you could want. There seemed to be a ton of the crepe soled suede chelseas, too. They had more denim than I expected but I wasn't clear on whether it was on sale (the rest of the store is 60% off retail). No New Standards but they had New Cures, Rescues, and Hipsters. I tried to talk myself into a suit but the pants seemed to be cut a little oddly, so I passed and just walked out with a button down. It's certainly worth checking out if you're relatively close.

Shit, i wish i lived near there. Sounds like some good deals to be had. I'd love to pick up a button down, sweater or jacket.

I assumed you checked apc.fr so I'm not even going to look, but other than that you could try to call around to actual APC stores (ie not online) and see if they have some in stock. I don't think I've ever seen the APC x Nike online other than on apc.fr, though sites may exist (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong here). This is assuming they are willing to ship....

Hey I read through this entire thread... yes all 76 pages and I just bought size 27 New Standards. My true waist is ~30 but I haven't seen many people post on here about sizing down by 3" and their experiences.

The 27's fit on decently, I can button them up all the way, and the waist is perfectly fine. The thighs are skin tight when sitting down, but have a tiny bit of give when standing. The legs fit well.

I'm just a little concerned with the crotch area and how that will stretch out. Will the front/back rise stretch? And if it does, will it not make the jeans have a deformed look? The crotch is 'almost' ball busting, not too bad, but I could use more room.

I currently workout and play hockey so my thighs may get bigger... also I'm just not used to tight fitting jeans, these are my first pair Raws.

I guess I'm worried mostly because all of the posts I see say 2 sizes down.

I believe I can still exchange the jeans for a size 28... should I? Will 28's give me more crotch room, or is it not that noticeable?

Thanks!

The jeans aren't meant to sit on your waist like dress pants or even perhaps other jeans you've worn. They're generally supposed to be worn on the hipbone or even slightly below if you desire. This doesn't show your ass crack or look sloppy or anything, but it's just how the jeans look best so you don't get a male camel toe with the jeans being medium and not high rise. Wear them a bit more on your hip and just give it some time and they should stretch in the right places and you'll like them more. They also fit better after they soften up from wear.

Cheapest place to buy APC NS's right now? Long story short, my mother decided to be motherly and put my NS's in the washer and dryer. Nice.
