so i've read that the new standards are tapered at the hem a bit (nowhere official, just posts on different forums). my inseam is usually like 30 or 31 (i like minimal stacking if any) so do you think hemming them to that length would eliminate the taper? i ask because i dont really want tapered jeans, and i prefer when the leg opening is between 8" and 9" that way my feet dont look like boats. the size i'm currently eyeing is either sz. 30 or 31, as where i wear my jeans around my hips measures exactly 34" so if anyone has any sz. 30's or 31's if they could measure how wide the leg is when layed flat about 30ish inches from the crotch that would be greatly appreciated. thanks for any help guys
When did the price go up? Werent they like $155 before. Last spring i got a pair and it was 155 right??
I would buy the Rescue and just size down one extra size. NS appear pretty straight (since your leg itself is tapered), but the Rescue is truly straight, and a bit wider (NS will never be 8-9in across unless you go up to mid-calf or are buying like size 36).
hmm..
I don't consider the Rescue particularly saggy ********** or baggy in the thigh. They certainly loosen up as you wear them, but if you buy them tight in the thigh they'll eventually loosen up there and also fit in the top block. The rise isn't as high as 501s, IMO, and in fact isn't really any higher than the NS. I'd say the Rescue and NS fit identical in the thigh, with the Rescue sized one size down.
most retailers get the denim around the same time..from what ive seen
Hey guys, long time lurker first time caller, and I have a dilemma. I'm ordering my first pair of New Standards, and have no benchmark to base the size on. Currently I wear:
good to know. i guess i'll look up some more fit pics, but so far i'm thinking either 29 rescue or 30 ns.
