I'm looking for insight on where to purchase an off the rack suit for a short man that finds a 36S too large? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the same boat (shoulders too narrow to fit 36s). The only brands I know of who make sizes smaller than 36 are Mexx (cheap and dirty) and Suit Supply (limited locations)

Are you a 34s? A boy's 18r is pretty close to a 34s (I wear both). Try Brooks Brother's Boys section, I've found a few well-fitting suits there.

Thanks for the suggestions. Suit Supply looks like an excellent option, have you purchased suits from them?

I'm actually reaching out for a friend of mine, who would probably fit best in a 34S. He mentioned that some have recommended that he shop for boys suits but he's self conscious about that. Thanks for the tip though, I'll pass on the info.

Wasn't aware that hugo boss makes a 34R. Most retailers don't carry 34's. Any ideas on why not?

I can promise you that with the brooks brother suits you can't tell the difference.

My experience has been that it's a small market and not worth the trouble, i.e. the vast majority of smaller men wear a 36.

Annoying I know.
