Cole Haan Crocket and Jones love child?

I picked up these shoes over the weekend that resemble the Crocket and Jones Cavendish, both on the outside and the nail pattern on the heal. However they are Cole Haan brand, made in England. I did some research but didn't find concrete evidence that C&J ever made for Cole Haan. So I was wondering if these are just a Cole Haan Cavendish knock off or did C&J make for Cole Haan at some point.

Also what are your thoughts on this style of shoe? I have never owned any loafers outside of penny loafers so I'm not too sure if these are going to work. Thanks,

I know pre-Nike Cole Haan had quite a few companies make shoes for them - including Edward Green. I'm certainly not versed in Cole Haan history, but it's very possible this are in fact C&J.

I found someone selling a pair of Cole Haan C&J shoes on Ebay, that could just be what he is marketing them as.

Those shoes are Cheaney - those inner markings were used by Cheaney on the models they made specifically for Cole Haan and I've not seen them used elsewhere.

Amazing how far a titan falls... at least on soft, cushy, NikeAir!
