Sell empty boxes on eBay? I must have ten times as many boxes piled up at my office as I just found in my dresser drawer (no tie boxes OP, just scarves, pocket squares and bowties). If I sell all of them maybe I can buy a new scarf and bowtie the next time I go to New York.

As long as you don't mind contributing to fraud go right ahead.

PM member Hermes Simplex. He may have what you want. Be forewarned that whatever you get (catch) from him will stick with you for life. It will be a gift that keeps giving.

I bet if you looked on eBay, you'd find some sellers still selling them. If you think about it, it's quite a neat case of how a market develops. Sad on one level, but neat in its own way.

EDIT: actually, I just searched and didn't find any such auctions. Maybe eBay pulled them all in face of legal complaints from Hermes/others?
I suggest he stand in front of Hermes with a sign: "Will work for Hermes boxes."

This kind of inventiveness is why you can never keep the USA down for long. I'd chip in some change!

I only searched the UK site when I posted earlier, I should have thought to search the regular one too! lol.

I wonder if anyone's ever sent one to a reweaver. If it was possible, and they did a good enough job, there's probably a profit to be made. Alternatively, I'm sure someone in the Far East keeps a factory busy churning out fake labels for replacing cut/marker-penned labels. If you can think of it, someone's probably making some money from it already. :)

If you want to risk burglary charges, try their dumpsters at night. Be sure to wear all black. Accessorize with black eye makeup, gloves, sack, balaclava and flashlight. Leave your cel phone at home so they can't track you and be prepared to run. Have bus fare ready and know the route scheduling for faster getaway *(see disclaimer below).

At a market in the far east I once saw a bag of little alligator patches for sale. Instantly lacosteify your whole wardrobe!

It's, like, magic or something.

Despite the cache'.  Storing ties in flat boxes is not a recommended procedure. I had a local clothier give me 24 generic boxes: 4"x 4"x4".  They fit nicely in a drawer set aside for ties, and most importantly they allow you to roll the tie to store it.  This prevents creases and preserves the body of the tie.

Or should I buy a tie and ask for two extra boxes? Assuming they wouldnt just give them to me

why not search one on ebay or amazon? :)

I think the box is useless, but if you buy a birkin, you will get a box.
