Will Hermes give me boxes? - Page 3

Assuming you don't want this box to con someone into purchasing a used tie that he thinks is "new in box" I have quite a few (I have a Hermes addiction), and I'd be willing to help you out.

You know, the last time this topic came up on SF (years & years ago, and might not have been Hermes, exactly, but some high-end shop anyway), I think someone ended up posting a link to an eBay auction for some old boxes. I bet if you looked on eBay, you'd find some sellers still selling them. If you think about it, it's quite a neat case of how a market develops. Sad on one level, but neat in its own way.

EDIT: actually, I just searched and didn't find any such auctions. Maybe eBay pulled them all in face of legal complaints from Hermes/others?

I suggest he stand in front of Hermes with a sign: "Will work for Hermes boxes."

I don't see anything special about them.

FTFY.  I think the laughter from people who see him holding this sign will get him a few high fives and dollars thrown his way for future purchases.

This reminds of the poster who wanted to know how to clean the red X off the RL tags for a suit he bought.  When he was called out on it, he claimed it was solely because his girlfriend prefered that the labels on the inside of his jacket not have X's on them.

There was a homeless women in my former town who had a sign reading: "Help me buy a house in Blackhawk." Blackhawk is an expensive but tacky Bay Area residential development. Her signed worked much as you suggest.

theres no way you could sell USED ties as New in box. If they were new, why would the tags be off...? even though I keep good care of my ties (especially Hermes) they cant be passed off as New.
