My first pair of ES blew out in 3 months. I'm fairly sure that these 5EP's will last... significantly longer than that. In terms of blending denim color and quality, these seem unmatched. I'm sure a pair of Iron Heart's will last longer, but you have to see the color of 5EP's in person. It's fairly awesome the first time you see them inside then take a step into the sun. I'm sure people who own them know what I'm talking about.

Those are some really nice looking jeans. I don't own any 5EP but I'm really looking forward to the collaboration jean. You can see the quality in them.

I don't think you're wrong. After all, it's worth what you want to spend on it, right?

However, these are quality jeans that fade hella slow, but have beautifully deep color. For example, swisloc's:

for what it's worth I have to agree with others that the fit is not 'poor' it's just different. For me they are almost perfect for my body type (tall, long legs, muscular thighs, normal waist). Most other 'popluar' jeans on this forum do not fit me as nicely (even APC NS are not too flattering). For them to be perfect, I'd probably want a tad less rise, but otherwise they're perfect.

And as far as the denim quality, construction, comfort etc., they're on the short list of the best, and quite possibly at the top of the list.

I am adding my admiration for the amazing depth and complexity of the color of 5EP denim (I have straight down resin), and the overall comfort, detailing and construction quality.

The feel of the denim is also noteworthy.

I paid retail for mine and have no regrets about it.

That said, you shouldn't buy them if you don't like them.

But make no mistake, the build quality of these is very hard to match, as several have said before me.

I would have totally jumped on the deadstock 5EPs that were for sale if they weren't so high rise, offered a longer inseam, and were a bit slimmer in the upper portion. Every picture I've seen has really impressed me as far as contruction and the denim goes (I love the dark selvage), but I doubt they'd fit well on me. But I have hope that the styleforum model will be the right fit.

are you guys talking 5ep in general? or the low down boots? or the straights? They're on the top of my "to buy" list, the denim looks amazing, I'm kinda worried they're too big and too anti-fit, but still.

Maybe it is my apparently rather unusual arse but the straight resin are not that "antifit" on me...

I'm sorry but I really don't get it. BrianSD and LA Guy are both size 30s or so, and their 5EPs seem to fit them fine. How small are you guys who think the 5EP will be too antifit/big?

My SDR are also 30. Wearing them as we type, actually. They are not tight around the arse but the back certainly does not sag...

Anti-fit, in my mind, doesn't mean ill-fitting.

To the contrary, my 501xx's fit great (at the waist etc), but the anti-fit, means they're roomy in the thighs, and ass.
Nothing wrong with that, it just looks really weird on my body type.

See, I don't really see that they're that roomy in the thighs/ass. Certainly they're not as slim as say, New Cures, but they're also not new RB6s. I would say the fit of my LDBs is pretty similar to a jean like a RB11 or RRL Slim Fit.

Hmmmm, RB11s look pretty big on rag&bone's site and on denimbar's site.

Looking through WAYWN, they look slimmer on you (drizz3117), and baggier on some other members.

Just further evidence that there is quite a bit of variation and the best way to determine if they'll fit well is by trying them on. My RB11s are a tad looser around the thighs than my 5EP LDBs. For me, the RB11s are pretty slim. And I consider myself in the skinny-legged variety. The 5EP SDZ's are pretty loose on me. Not a flattering fit for me, personally, but I've seen them look great on other people. My 5EPs that fit really well are the LDBs.

Part of it could be that some (like me) are so used to wearing our jeans on our hips, that we'll do that regardless of the rise. Insert a rather high-rise jean, and you are going to have some extra room in the seat/thigh, even if you do have big legs (again, like me).
