Chisel-toe? Or too square!

Hi,

I've recently bought these 'Plain' shoes by Lloyd. The corners at the toe are quite squared, and now I'm wondering if these are more of a chisel toe or a square toe. What do people think?

There are some photos at this link: http://www.zappos.com/lloyd-plain

Thanks!

I'd say that's a square toe, albeit quite mild.

Half-way house, I can't really tell from the picture. I have some chisels around one Inch and some around two inch. Maybe square starts at three inch I don't know. Still, what does it matter just so long as you like them?

those are square-toed pilgrim shoes.

there's only one thing to do with those:

I don't think they look bad, though I may be a minority in that.  They arent clown shoe squares. I would think you could wear them perfectly fine. 99% of the people out there wont notice.

Can I help by pouring some gasoline?

My biggest problem with that shoe is that it's horrendously overpriced. If you want to wear bicycle-toed, corrected grain glue-jobs, you should be able to find a pair of equal quality for $60 at your nearest Aldo.

Square toe. Not the worst example, but square toe nonetheless.

Thanks for the.. enthusiastic.. advice, much appreciated

I am considering returning them, however, I will need to purchase another pair in the next day or two, as I need a pair for a wedding this weekend. It would be an added bonus if I could also occasionally wear them slightly dressed down (i.e. not with a suit, but still smart) for going out.

From what I have seen, the selection available to me is fairly limited, not helped by the fact my feet are on the small side (39/40).

I have a pair of rounded toe cap style shoes in tan which I quite like - would a pair of those in black be a better option?

I'm not a fan of a chunky sole, but if the shape is better (and given my time constraint), would something like this be preferable?

Many thanks!
