Clearly you don't know squat about cars

This from the guy who didn't know they have reflectors on the back.

when i was a kid we had a mazda that would often stall at low idle. looking back it could've been the belt tensioner...

where i live it's amazing how often somebody stalls in the middle of the 2 lane tunnel. fucks up the whole thing.

i'm not sure why anybody would think it's rare for a car to stall in the road. happens literally all the time. no boulder necessary.

Was putting "stalls" in scare quotes not enough for you? My disbelief isn't that the car might have become immobilized, it's that it ended up right in the middle of the road. For further reading: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inertia

lol so many quotation marks, so little time...

not long ago i came across an stalled RV and it blocked both lanes. so what? where are you going with this exactly?

EDIT: i think the transcript of the initial police call about the guy's car is informative:

http://www.kjrh.com/news/local-news/tulsa-police-release-audio-of-911-calls-involving-the-abandoned-vehicle-of-terence-crutcher

sounds like the first caller is convinced Crutcher was tripping? doesn't sound like the car necessarily stalled at all (then again, the 2nd caller seems to say the car is off) or that Crutcher was necessarily a danger either...

couldnt they just shot him in the legs though, he wasn't moving and they were 3-4m apart confused.gif it's not uncommon for police here to shot to say 'disarm' if it's possible

If my car breaks down in the middle of the road and I can't pull over, I'm going to be arrested?

Caller said.: "There was a guy running from it. He, like somebody was going to blow up. I think he's smoking something."

Why did the caller think Crutcher had been smoking something?

And what does "He,like somebody going to blow up" mean?

read the rest of it:

I got out and was like, 'do you need  help'? And he was like, come here, come here. I said well what's going on and he's like, come here come here. I think it's going to blow up. I'm like nah I'm out.

sounds like the driver was convinced (rightly or wrongly) that the car was going to blow. he was trying to get the caller to take a look but the caller didn't want to fuck around with it.

I know enough to know that a bad alternator, faulty distributor, failed fuel pump, failed crankshaft position sensor, out of gas, rust/debris in fuel lines, wiring issue, failed thermostat are just some reasons for a car to just cut out while driving

A car being parked like that in the middle of the road is strange enough to be suspicious that something is up (I wouldn't stop to help). But on the other hand, its easy to think of reasonable explanations (off the top of my head, braked for a deer, swerved and then his car wouldn't start etc.) Still, I am sure there will be more story. If cops approached 4 abreast in combat stance on everyone with a broken car, there would be a lot more dead people.

Presumably it means he was high or drunk and belligerent. Might explain why he wasn't cooperating with the cops.

You still don't seem to appreciate that almost all of the various things that will make your car not go anymore don't make it stop immediately, and certainly don't make it stop in a way that blocks both lanes of traffic on a highway. Try going up to 55 and letting off the gas (or putting it into neutral if you can). How far do you roll before you stop? (A: a long ways).

It's about time we made "suspected of being drunk or high" a capital offense.
