Maybe if they didn't understand the similar looking, but very different in meaning word "relevantly".

Oh please, why don't you fuckoff back to Popovistan you dumb Pollack? More seriously you have a very skewed vision of american society because you seem to approach it through some net echo-chamber. Outside of some people tagging stuff about #microaggressions on their facebook most americans have about as much white guilt as you do.

There's a certain intent to racism. You're refusing to fund a black school because they're black.

If I lobby to have a park built in my neighborhood, I'm not deliberately taking money away from the black section of town. It just works out that way. That's self-interest, not racism.

Just out of curiosity I googled "relatively cool":

5,840 degrees (F): https://books.google.com/books?id=IoCcAgAAQBAJ&pg=PA122#v=onepage&q&f=false

450 degrees F: http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/closest-earth-size-exoplanet-found-may-be-a-venus-twin/

3,500 degrees F: http://earthsky.org/space/small-star-has-storm-like-jupiters

1,000 degrees F: http://www.futurity.org/weather-exoplanet-wasp-43b-781182/

Etc.

Is this some kind of metallurgy in-joke?

If so only by accident, because I don't know anything about metallurgy. @Numbernine?
My point was similar to that originally made by Rumpelstiltskin or Gibonious. References to relative differences in various qualities may or may not be cogent (even if literally true) depending on context.

Relatively speaking, Justin Gatlin may be slower than Usain Bolt, and the slowest guy to qualify for the 100M dash in the Olympics is slower than Gatlin. But if the question is whether I would stand a chance of winning any of the preliminary heats, saying "Gatlin is slow relative to Bolt" is a non-sequitur.

If you're looking at two glowing steel bars and your concern is "Will it burn the fuck out of me," then neither is "relatively cool." Either one is hot as fuck as far as you care.

If you're an astronomer looking at planets, or you care about the blackbody radiation curve, then it would make sense to talk about being "relatively cool."

I feel like this analogy might have lost meaning at this point....

Don't be too harsh on yourself, CE allows dissenting opinion from time to time, I mean sure you can be shunned or slurred from time to time but it's generally allowed.

I just think you guys have defnition of 'institutionalized racism' and 'systemic racism' wrong and apply the term to situations that are mostly cases of individual racism of police officers or their gross incompetence. And I'm pretty sure there is 1-2 persons here who share this view as well.

And yes BLM only has any backing because it's made of historically oppressed minority, and it's not like whole society backs them either, silent majority doesn't but you don;t hear them speak out- it's not a fancy thing or nice thing to do compared to showing hw non-racist you are by supporting blm.

You have a weird degree of confidence in your understanding of American race relations.

Well, I suppose you could be right that shunning or slurring occurs because of some sort of institutionalized or systemic bias against "dissenting opinion".

Or it could just be that when somebody says something stupid, obnoxious, or dickish, people tend to point it out, and that people who persist in acting like trolls run the risk of being ignored (the non-butthurt synonym for "shunned").

But you're not addressing my point, which was that the cooler bar leaves less severe burns. Maybe oppression of blacks was so bad in the deep south that it just looped and started having positive effects, like an integer overflow.
