How are the media supposed to cover black on black violence? The only way I can see is to stress that police killings of blacks make up the smallest percentage of total black homicides compared to homicides of other races, which does not refute the police killings themselves other than to bring the problem to scale, and I agree the media should do so more often. They (the media) have blood on their hands but I didn't think the chief raised the strongest points.
by simply reporting it?
on further reflection i'm not sure that sheriff clarke got the better of don lemon. consider the optic: is it a besieged officer protesting media surrogacy on behalf of a fringe advocacy campaign? or is it yet another instance of some cop overreacting and browbeating an innocent black man?
these moments may just end up as rohrsach tests: do you see the old crone or the young maid?
