Maybe he "retired" like Michael Jordan "retired" the first time.

They were probably in fear of their lives and the victims were probably resisting.

The person's will has been broken and they will then agree to what would have otherwise been an unlawful search.

But the cop doesn't have to do any of that. If he wants to, he can arrest you and take you to jail for failing to use your blinker. Then he calls a tow truck to get your car and "inventories" the contents to make sure nothing gets lost. All legal and much easier than wrestling with some nutcase on the ground.

Anyone following the shooting in Tennessee?

An engineering grad was shot dead near a Naval facility.

He was driving while Moslem, with the top down in a convertible Mustang.

Cops can't produce video, and claim that they were endangered by this young man.

How do you know the cops shot him? Yeah, they fired their guns, and, yeah, he got hit with bullets shortly thereafter, but did you actually SEE the bullets travel from the cops' guns into his body? Do you have a ballistics report proving where the bullets came from? Did the guy say, argh, the cops have shot me? Then you are just speculating! No evidence!

...and how do we know they were shot altogether. Maybe it's a pension scam.

Penn and Teller do this bullet catch trick, and the trick of it is that they shoot each other with guns but through the power of mysticism they are able to absorb the bullets and produce them in their mouths. I suspect something similar here, where this young man used his dark magick skills to remove the bullets from the cops' guns and absorb them into his body, even though no guns were actually fired.

Oh yeah, that's going to play well in court. I'm not crowing but think of what happens to the cop that does exactly this to me.

Also, if that's the case, why do cops spend so much effort just getting people to allow otherwise unlawful searches? Oh yeah! Because it's bullshit and they're just fishing.

Nah, there's a better story in Lafayette, La. 10 shot, 2 dead in a movie theatre, and facts rolling in.

They are trying to color this whole episode, Michael Brown style, with a kerfuffle that happened at a Marine recruiting office.

This fits into the ugly stereotype of the angry Moslem on a terrorist rampage.

They killed him miles away from the earlier and unrelated incident.

A can of lemonade and Kit Kats were found in his console.
