I had some wallets made for me, and made an extra Martin margiela wallet copy, Very nice, soft leather. with string cord closure. 12x8,5 cm. 20$ shipped worldwide sold paypal as payment. cheers

I have the original of that CdG wallet that I got in Japan; it looks like a pretty exact copy (the hardware there is Ykk, too). I've been using mine for probably five years now, and it just gets better with age.

Do you think the string cord could be replaced with a snap fastening of some sort? Is the cord actually attached to the leather?

I don't think so, there is a hole for the stringcord so It wouldn't look good if you put on a snap thingy. the cord is just fastened with a knot, just like the authentic margiela wallet.

on the thickest point where the flap is it measures 1cm when closed.

I use one and it holds cards good, not sure about coins though.
