I'm always interested in critiques of technology, so I just requested that from my library. Thanks for the rec.I just finished Why Does the World Exist? by Jim Holt. I would definitely recommend it if you have an interest in philosophy.
Reading thread - Page 3
So went to go find some McCarthy at the library; they didn't have any at that branch but they did have the final Wheel of Time book. Figured since I had read the first 13 might as well finish it. Just finished, have to say it was pretty long (one chapter was literally 200 pages) but I guess that's expected. Everything tied up fairly well, I was pretty content with it.
Now to figure out what to read next... I've still got a couple short story collections lying around. Probably work on those.
I'm wondering if anyone has thoughts on the comic? About 19-ish issues in, I'd say it's improving greatly at all the character-driven things it sets out to do.
Beryl Markham's West With the Wind was unbelievable. Made me want to go run around Africa. It's one of the best memoirs I've read.
Thinking about Leviathan Wakes next, after all the good things I've heard.
