Charles Tyrwhitt Reviews and Fitting

I looked at their sizing chart and my sleeves are a S(33), my chest is a M(40), and my neck is a L(16.5) lol. SInce they're all the way in London I don't want to return a purchase(I reside in San Francisco, CA). Their shirts would fit odd on me right?

I doubt it. I am a 41/42 chest, and I wear their 16/33 extra slim fit shirts. It is doubtful 16.5 will fit well. You might want to consider a 16 with a collar extender

So, I apologize for hijacking your thread here, but I happen to be looking at a few CT shirts as well. problem is, I can't decide if I should get the slim or extra slim fit. I have an athletic build (shoulders fairly large and much wider than waist) and, while not a huge guy, I'm not small either. My chest and shoulders are pretty full. any thoughts?

Also, I had trouble finding info on their collars. Are they pretty stiff? I hate soft collars. Thanks and, again, sorry for the hijack.

Im with you there; im actually visiting them near my place (midtown Manhattan) to try on some shirts. Unfortunately my build isn't fashion friendly (muscular chest, arms and small waist)

Keep you guys posted.....if all else fails its back to modern tailor and blank label

Charles Tyrwhitt Extra Slim Fit shirts aren't that slim at all. I am a fairly skinny guy by all accounts (5'8, 135) but the 15/33 ESF shirt I ordered fits like a burlap slack. Just measuring the chest (pit-to-pit) is ~18" across the front. The waist at the second to last button is ~16.5-17". A 2-3 inch drop is not anywhere close to extra slim IMO. That being said, I paid something like $29 after shipping with a promo code and the quality for that price is fantastic.

I gotta get my neck measured again. The person who measured me is a professional, but my neck looks average sized. According to Thomas Tyrwhitt I must be some kind of freak lol.

Thanks! By the way, I just got my neck measured by a couple different places and all but one confirmed my neck at 16.5. I'm surprised because my neck doesn't look thick at all. I don't know what your measurements are but being a european brand I'm going to go with slim fit if it's not a dress shirt with specific numbered sizes.

I would have thought the same, but everything I found said that CT fits very large. I found more than one comparison of their tailored (extra slim) cut to the BB extra slim, which is really what I would consider a typical slim fit (no extra about it). So, I went with the extra slim. I'll post the fit here when I get them.

Their collars are probably their defining characteristic, their collars are very stiff, you wont be let down.

I have 10-20 ct shirts and ive found that their tailored (extra slim) shirts fit me quite well. i am 5'7 150lbs with an athletic build, 15/33 left maybe an inch on both side of extra space, it could be taken in a little more but i havent found any BB shirts to fit this well fwiw.
