Charles Tyrwhitt Reviews and Fitting - Page 32

post #466 of 472

Hey guys, thinking of trying some CT shirts as I'd like to have an affordable everyday shirt option in rotation. Although, I've never seen their shirt in person before, hence my questioning.

I have a strong dislike for skinny collars - do their spread, semi-spread and extreme cutaway have collar point as least long enough to tuck under the lapels? Do their BD collars have some kind of roll (I understand if it's not Mercer or Kamakura level, but still)?

Can you care to post a picture of some of your CT shirts, I haven't found much help using Google Image.

Thanks guys!

They have healthy collars. Not the largest I've ever seen, but more than large enough. Nice and stiff, too. Can't comment on the button downs as I don't have any button downs from them, just a couple spreads and a cutaway.

I'm a big fan of their collars. Very hefty. The spread and semi-spead fit easily under my lapels.

Don't have experience with their button downs.

Thanks! I have my head set on a couple of their offering!

Don't have any experience with their spreads  but wearing one of their button down sport shirts in oxford cloth now. Great heavy material. Collar is a bit shorter than a Brooks, roll isn't as nice but still a decent shirt for $25 (good sale) to $40 (normal sale).

I was looking for a slim fit charcoal overcoat and I came across this CT:

http://www.ctshirts.co.uk/mens-outerwear/mens-coats/Charcoal-Italian-wool-cashmere-Slim-fit-overcoat?q=frgob||oc095cha|||||406,||||||||

It's 90% wool 10% cashmere. Is it worth 179 pounds? It's currently out of stock but it can be ordered and delivered in June. When it's available again will they keep the same price? It's supposedly down from 400 pounds but I find it a bit hard to believe.

Thank you.
