Tight/close fitting leather jackets

Thread Starter

I know there are already 3 leather jacket threads on the front page, but after a search or two I couldn't find what I wanted, so here's the question folks. For preferably less than $1000, where can I get quality tight (or if tight is too scary sounding) close fitting leather jacket.

Details: I'm skinny, so there it is. Most leather jackets I wear look like I stole my giant father's jacket. I'm 5 10 and 140. So yeah, skinny, but not short. The picture below sort of shows what I'm going for, I prefer brown, but for an awesome fit, I'd go for black.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I feel like I'm whacking my head against a wall trying to find anything remotely close to what I want.

That's just a typical moto (also called a single rider) jacket that's been processed to look worn in. Any number of Japanese brands, from Jun Hashimoto to Attachment make jackets like that, and do a good job as well. Now, to bring it under $1K - you are going to find that difficult. Drome, Giorgio Brato, and Lot 78 are probably among your better bets for jackets that look like that, and have that type of treatment, in that price range. I'd just troll Yoox for a while. Stuff like that turns up.

And check the TOJ aka Temple of Jawnz here on Styleforum. I guess they are still doing made-to-measure. Their jackets are not that distressed though but amazing jackets anyway.

I see you're in the Seattle area.  Zara is coming to town early 2014 in the Westlake Center.  They should have a leather jacket like the one you described above.  You may like to try their website at www.zara.com to see their selection if you don't feel like waiting.

I'm looking for the exact same thing and am willing to go MTM up to about $1500 if I can get the fit I want in a distressed look like the pic. Any advice on where to go?

TOJ is your best bet in terms of fit. They do MTM for around $800. However, you would have to distress the jacket yourself.

The only thing I can think of is J. Crew makes a distressed moto-style jacket you may like, it is darker though.

It claims it is black, but it looks more like a distressed dark brown to me. I had it at one point, but sent it back because I like TOJ better. Here is non-model pic from teh interwebz

My guess is you will be a size large or medium-tall.

Thanks Gauss I appreciate it. I should have clarified I'm not the same size as the OP, sorry for that.

On another note I have purchased from these guys before.

I bought the "Life on Mars" jacket back when I was channeling my inner Tyler Durden. Fit on SR is AWESOME. I'm 5'7" 160 and typically wear a 38 Short in most everything and the Medium from Soul Revolver fits REALLY close.

I love their jackets but they don't offer a leather that's distressed enough for me.
