What would be your third colour /type of shoe?

Ive been slowly acquiring pieces of my wardrobe for the business environment and have decdided to add another pair of shoes to the rotation. The environment isnt overly formal so i could possibly get away with suede but probably not chukkas if that makes any sense.

 

I have a  pair of black shoes (brogues) and have picked up some dark brown carmina's (punched captoes). I was wondering what people thought would be the most versatile colour/type after that? I was thinking a pair of dark burgundy? Maybe even a boot? 

 

I really like the look of the G and G wigmore but im not sure if my budget can stretch that far,. Anyone with opinons? Was hoping for around the $500 mark.

Cardovan.

And I tend to wear a lot of medium brown.

Edit: After the post below I realize walnut/cognac is probably a more apt description than medium brown.

Burgundy. Goes great with almost any shade of grey pants.

I prefer a deep oxblood to that most often described as burgundy or bordeaux, which can often be entirely too 'red' for my liking. I have a pair of Vass oxblood double monks inbound at present.

A medium brown, such as walnut and the like, would also make a nice addition to the rotation.

1) Dark Brown (since it's probably the most versatile)
2) Black
3) Burgundy
