Buffalo Horn suit buttons are here! The horn is sourced from India and the buttons are drilled, polished and finished in Italy. Just added a bigger size to the Saucer style button for overcoats!

Style 1: The "Sleek"
These excellent horn buttons are smooth with a wide lip around the outer edge and a slightly curved back. The finish is a semi-gloss and I have both black horn and brown horn to choose from.

The "Sleek" horn button comes in sizes 32L and 24L and is 3.8mm and 3.2mm thick, respectively.

The black horn "Sleek" button is available at $2.50 for 32L and $1.75 for 24L.
The brown horn "Sleek" button is available at $2.25 for 32L and $1.50 for 24L.

Style 2: The "Saucer"
The second style is the thickest buffalo horn button I have seen yet! This awesome horn button has a very rounded and prominent lip and a very curved back. The finish is also a semi-gloss and is only available in the black horn.

The "Saucer" comes in sizes 32L and 24L and is 6.2mm and 5.7mm thick, respectively!
Just added in a matching larger size for use with overcoats, peacoats, etc. This size is 48L (30.5mm or 1.20") and 6.8mm thick and is a fantastic way to transform your winter coat! Size 48L and 32L for coats:

The black horn "Saucer" button is available at $4.75 for size 48L, $3.75 for 32L and $2.75 for 24L.

I though buffalo went extinct?

Is that a (bad) joke?

If you're thinking of American bison, sometimes called buffalo, they were close to extinction through overhunting but some remained and numbers have gradually increased, but nothing compared to the numbers that used to roam the prairies.

However, there are, of course, many other species of buffalo, including the water buffalo which is ubiquitous throughout SE Asia, including parts of northern Australia. I assume that the buttons come from a species of buffalo other than the American bison.

Hi Sean Paul,

I'm interested in the following buttons:

The brown horn "Sleek" button is available at $2.50 for 32L and $1.75 for 24L

I'm assuming that the 32L are for the Front of a suit jacket and the 24L are for the sleeves (surgeon's cuffs). Is that correct as I need them for a suit jacket.

If so, I'd like to order 3 of the 32L and 10 of the 24L shipped to Toronto, Canada.

Please advise and thanks,

Bruno

Are your horns rally made of genuine horns of the buffalo animal? Do they come in different sizes?

Given that this is your first post and you just joined the forum now, this is probably a troll comment and not a real question (especially given that I already provide details above about the horn and someone else asked about buffalo in this thread as well).

However, just in case you didn't read anything above and meant well, the quick answers are: yes, this is real genuine buffalo horn, sourced from water buffalo in India that are raised for meat and hide already. The horns are taken after those purposes are already completed. Yup, the buffalo horn buttons come in two sizes, which are the standard sizes needed for a suit jacket.

Update 12/15/14:

All buffalo horn buttons in this thread are still available! Just a quick note - any white lines or streaks you may see in the photos above or in the buttons you receive are natural striations in the horn from the animal itself. This is part of what gives horn it's natural and unique look as a suit button. If you have a preference one way or the other regarding these striations, please make note of it when you order.

Additionally, if you happen to have a preference for lighter shades or darker shades of brown, you may express that in your order and I will do my best to accommodate it.

All buttons are sorted by hand and efforts made to make sure that the set you get is matched up so your garment looks its very best!

cheers,
SP
