There we go. Disagree with anything the DoTY says, no matter how little sense it makes, and it's FCM time.

Edit: Lulz. Ninja edited it out and trying to cobble something together to back track.

Notice I said "Now that Pete has destroyed it [reputation], he's useless". Trudy needed the reputation above all else. Now its gone.

In essence, my comment was directed at the new reality for the couple and the change in dynamics brought on by the latest episode. In my opinion his value is gone. I thought my post's current state intent was obvious, and viewed thru that context I believe it makes perfect sense.

This still makes no sense as your events are all out of temporal order for a coherent explanation. The apartment happened before this (minor) scandal but you are using his, in your opinion, ruined reputation as the causative factor for Trudy giving him the apartment in your original answer. Additionally, no one knows about the affair but a couple of people so the "family's reputation" is completely intact and as if a little infidelity can ruin the reputation of an entrenched WASP family.

If, "in essence," your comment was directed at "the new reality" it was completely non-responsive to the original question.

FCM FTW.

I disagree^. They live in suburbia. Everyone knows about the affair yesterday. The blonde had likely told her BFF, who told hers and so on until the rest of the neighborhood heard her screaming outside Pete's house.

It's not the cheating, it's the indiscretion that ruined things- like Trudy said.

At least the blonde girl was hot.

Pete knocks it out of the park again, rounds third, and takes it all of the way to another destroyed life.

I live in suburbia and have for years. In my previous house I did not know the first names of the people that lived across the street for eight years.

Not sure if serious, but unless you lived in suburban NYC in the late 1960's I'd imagine things have changed. FWIW, I've only ever lived in the burbs and for the most part neighbors know what other neighbors are up to. The only place that hasn't been true is my current neighborhood, in which people are so transient no one really ever gets to know one another before they end up moving on.

I know most of the people on my block, to the extent that I know their names, what kind of work they do and what kind of family they have, but I wouldn't know if they were having affairs. Even though statistically speaking at least some of them almost have to be.

Although now that I think of it, I think the chick across the street from me is banging two dudes.

That is well and good, assuming she's not in a committed relationship with anyone.

Or she's in an open relation with one, both or a third person.

Forgot to mention the best line of the night. Joan gave it: And I know there's a part of you you haven't seen in years. Said to the big fat guy that she had to screw in order to get her (tiny) ownership part. He's also out to screw the account too.
