I have to dress up for work a few times a quarter, so even a limited rotation of styles would take care of my needs, but I like to dress a bit ahead of my peers.  Currently I wait for good sale prices on Brooks Brothers and try to pick something up, 43-44R, 38 Waist, 5"11, 220lbs.  Workout so broad shoulders/thighs, but the stomach is still there. My average price point right now is ~$3-350 for a sport coat, $8-900 for a suit, non-iron shirts at $40-45.

Can I get something a bit nicer than what I have for the same price?  Should I try to get a full wardrobe,  go simple with a few shirts, or just enjoy my time and not worry about it?
Shirts are possible in that time frame although you're cutting a lot of corners at that price. Good suits, not likely.

I found an old card here with contact details (the number is Michael's number, who works with Ng now):

I suggest maybe take a look at some stores, the fabrics they offer and their sample clothes before placing an order there. Some Hong Kong tailors travel internationally so you can try and get a good deal there. A week wouldn't be enough to get a decent custom shirt.

Ng sifu offers good value if you like his cut.

~$5000 hkd for full canvass? That's pretty attractive pricing. The photo from a few pages back looks decent, albeit only a shot from the back.

Anyone have experience comparing it to the more popular houses like WWC, GY, and Grand? There's got to be some trade off right for nearly half the price?

Does anyone know if Chan have hiked their prices up in the last couple of years?

I've just been quoted quite a bit more for a sports jacket (W Bill Shetland Collection) & 2pc (W Bills Irish Donegals) than I paid for my last 2 pc (Minnis Fresco) 2 years back. I don't think the fabric changes would account for the difference, which seems to be about 50 percent extra.

I'll be in HK in Nov/ Dec for the fittings so their trunk show prices don't apply. However, they quoted in USD, so I'm not sure if theres been some confusion.

Any information would be appreciated!

Cheers

If anyone can help at all, I would be grateful. I suspect their pricing has gone up a fair bit since they moved to Central.

Thanks!
His price goes up and quality goes down because Hong Kong all old tailors have low business because of old name they bring up always price's I know gallery tailors in cke mall tst these guys not make price up but quality is great and three years any problems with suit they look after

The best way to find out is to ask yourself as HK tailor prices can fluctuate depending on who the customer is.

For instance, at one of the upper echelon tailors (very old school, a well known name on SF), I was quoted prices that simply wouldn't be offered to foreigners.
