Help me learn to take care of my leather wallet

I recently picked up a used Cartier leather wallet on Ebay

It is in pretty good shape apart from a couple scuff marks on the back.

I've never owned a nice leather wallet like this and have no idea how to take care of it.  Can somebody help me out?  What is the best way to clean this type of leather without damaging it?

I guess I should have been more specific in my original post.

The previous owner didn't take good care of it and it is "grimy" (can't think of a better word to describe its condition).

I want to wash it and hopefully do something to help the leather keep its shine.

Is using soap going to damage the leather in any way?  For example, will regular hand soap work?
