Buday Shoes - Hungarian Shoemaker - Page 29

@Jazzmenco Thanks for the insight. Would you say the Frakno would be of a similar make to the U from Vass?

Not at all like the U, Closer to F.

I have two pair of suede Vass and one pair of reverse calf Buday. I prefer the Buday, but they are all really well made shoes that I am happy to wear at every opportunity. My Vass are on the P2 and F lasts and the Buday are on the Frakno last. I would say the Frakno is most like the F, but in my mind, the Frakno is in between the F and the P2.

Sounds like I ought to stop dithering and get some Buday in my life.

You won't regret it :fonz:

That sounds fantastic.  My Vass F last is a bit tight while my P2 is a bit loose.  I though that quality in materials and techniques would be exactly the same for both makers and that the only differences could be QC and may be attention to details due to Vass larger shoe production and more craftmen involved (think about 14).  It seems that Buday employs 3-4 craftmen?

Do you wear same size in F, P2 and Frakno lasts?

Is there a list anywhere to see the types of models Buday offers? Their site leaves a bit to be desired.

Are you looking at this page? under catalouge all the lasts are listed and then there are samples of all shoes available.

Do you mean models as in full brogue, NST, plain toe, etc? As opposed to lasts that is. Not sure there's much to do other than shift through their site to get an idea of the different models. Or google image search.

If you have somethings particularly in mind and want to know if they can make it, email the specs to Ed and he'll let you know. That's assuming you are planning on buying from him. smile.gif

Definitely planning on trying Buday, and buying via Ed. Prices are pretty ridiculous, in a good way.

It was more the hope of seeing more in the wild type views, rather than a 2D layout of lasts. While better than nothing to be sure, a more expansive view would be optimal.

Google image search it is smile.gif

Edit: the pics here have been the best resource thus far, so, by all means, keep on pumping out pics fellas!
