Help, please. Did I just get taken for a ride? Ralph Lauren shoe purchase from Barney's Warehouse. - Page 3
To this i say: +1.
In regards to the Strand statement. It is the only AE I own that has not creased considerably, so the Strand should not be the measure of typical AE creasing. The minimum vamp space on this model leaves only a small space for it to crease, and I will agree that it retains its pristine look for years...
True. Although I'll add my Park Ave's also show very little creasing, nothing nearing that seen on these "new shoes". But by far my Strands show the least, I'm in total agreement about your reasoning, too.
Yesterday, after receiving my e-mail, I received a phone call from Barney's saying they would be in touch with me today. After not hearing from them (and giving credit to the weather), I sent this:
Dear Mr. XXXXX:
I appreciate your patience and your concern. Our office closed early today and we may not be open tomorrow so I just wanted to let you know that you can return the shoes to us for a full refund. The address is:
I apologize for my reluctance but I do have to follow company policy. However, you should not be forced to keep anything you are not happy with.
Once they are sent back, our distribution staff will credit your account and you will receive an email confirmation confirming that it has been done.
Have a great weekend!
Sorry buddy, I have an inkling you were hoping to say "i told you so" when it was all said and done. I'll be replying to this Barney's employee, in the same polite but firm tone, expressing my appreciation for her time and expressing my understanding of her requirement to operate in the way she did. Hope you enjoyed the show, folks, thanks for your (varied) input along the way.
Thread necro, but I think it's totally absurd to sell an item like shoes for final sale, especially since Barneys doesn't provide more detailed measurements for their items. I wrote them an email expressing my discontent after reading this topic. Really glad that it had a positive ending though.
