So Allen Edmonds has a $200 promotion on their custom Neumoks now ( http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/cati_Custom+Shoes ). You could conceivably create hideous shoes with those color options, but I was thinking of getting a pair of all-green Neumoks with a black welt for the office and casual wear.

Here's how it would look like:

I'd prefer it to be a deeper bottle green, but I've been wanting to try a pair of dark green shoes for a while and I don't want to spend too much on my first pair. Also, I imagine that the color can be fixed with some light burnishing with navy shoe cream if I end up hating it.

Any thoughts? Also, I'd appreciate it if anyone else has alternatives at the same price point.

EDIT: what about this? i like the hue better, but it's not rich enough still.

Not a fan of that green.

However, that link is kind of fun. I put together what I think is a great summer shoe:

Actually quite enamored with this look and I think I may order them. After all, it is only $200!

Yeah, hard no to that green.

Patek, not bad for a super casual summer shoe. I'd prefer a darker sole though--I feel like it competes with the upper too much.

You may want to try the Neumoks on in-person if possible. They are unlined and may fit a little big compared to other AE-5 last shoes

hm... anyone have any suggestions or a cheap pair of bottle-green shoes then? I want to dip my toe in without doing the whole cannonball.

And yes Patek that does look good.

Good feedback, I did not even think of that. However, now you just added to my current dilemma:

Navy quarters with brown sole:

White quarters with brown sole:

1000

1000

Or same shoes with black soles:

1000

Bring the feedback! :slayer:

i'd go with white quarters, and the sole depends on how you'd wear it.

also this isn't AE but... is this shade of green better? It's not really rich enough for me but at least the hue is right. I'm curious what you guys think.

Patek, I prefer the white quarters with the brown sole, but that's just me. I actually wish there was a shade in between that brown and the first pic you posted.

Yeeth, green is not a good shade for a shoe, period. Also, those shoes are just plain ugly, no matter what color.

Cool. I was leaning is that direction and it is good to know I'm not crazy. I do like lighter soles lake maybe something like the 1000 mile boot. However the natural is probably tool light. I have a natural sole on a pair of Lubbock and it works for them but then that is a light brown "rustic" shoe (the only other pair of AE that I own).
