I need help with my new style. I have always had spiked messy hair, but new job requires a more professional style. I want my hair to look like the picture but ends up looking slicked down and dorky. Please let me know a product u you guys think I should use to achieve the hair look in the picture.. thx!

That's actually what I use. But I naturally have somewhat curly hair, and this helps me keep it more wavy than curly.

Hairbond makes great products, check them out.

It also has to do with how you put it in. If you want to look like Mr. Pitt above, you'll probably need to do a blow dry before putting the Fiber (or similar matte finish pomade product) in your hair. If you put it in while your hair is damp or wet, you'll get the matted down slick look. I guarantee you that Mr. Pitt's hair was blown dry for that picture.

Brad most likely had a stylist.

I also suggest (and use) American Crew Fiber. Definitely be careful about how much you use. Start off with a small dab. You can always add more. And work it down to the roots!

I have a little bit longer, fuller straight hair and found the American Crew Fiber didn't work well for me. It would get weighed down after a few hours and turn more greasy.
I've had really good luck with Prejume Wax, specifically the #7. http://www.amazon.com/Prejume-Wax-Hair-Styling-Spikes/dp/B0056PJHFI

You can restyle the stuff later in the day and it doesn't turn into a oily mess and has just enough give that you can run your hands through your hair without it being too sticky or stiff. I've tried about a dozen different waxes and pomades and so far this is my favorite.

^ I just used my Amazon points to try a jar. I've never tried Japanese wax.

I also used to use American Crew "Fibre" but I've since switched (at the recommendation of my hairstylist) to Aveda Men "Pure-formance" Grooming clay. I really like it, especially compared to the Crew stuff I used before.

Search YouTube for andrewdoeshair. You'll need to blow dry your hair before you apply your products. Matrix each clay will get you this dry look. Here it is on my client, Blake.

I use the good old german "Brisk". It´s available since the 50s.
