Shipping a suit from North America to Russia???

I need to ship a suit to Russia from North America but the employee at UPS told me that Russia Customs are not letting any goods to be shipped to personal addresses just business addresses with a business name completed on the package.  Anybody know if this is true?

Not sure about this. Can you use USPS? I've shipped many packages to personal addresses in Russia via USPS. Can take a long time though.

I sent a Borrelli coat to a personal address in Russia a week before Christmas. It took a bit long (hold up in Russia customs according to track & trace info) but eventually it got there.

I can use Canada Post which is the equivalent.  I will get a tracking number and hopefully insurance.  Thank you for your feedback.

I suggest you strongly learn and/or heed suggestions and customs laws of the country you are shipping to..

As example, Italy tends to be combined with Russia as a problematic country to ship to/from. I can state that shipping and postal service within Italy is just as good as the US, however people aremignorant as to the customs laws. Jewelry, watches, leather items, cannot be imported and may very well remain within la-la land indefinitely. This doesn't apply to EU countries.

Russia also has similar customs similarities which unfortunately Im not aware of.

If the post office employee told you so, LISTEN..
Laugh as you will, but customer service within the USA is the best in the world.

People easily blame others (especially regarding online transactions) but many problems are a result of ignorance.

Be careful and best wishes.

I used to live in Moscow and had things shipped to my private address - sometimes there have been some delays but in general it all went fine. However make sure that you got a tracking number, otherwise it might disappear and one of the customs officers might have a new suit...

I posted a package to Moscow from London on 31 December. It hasn't arrived yet.

I sent a suit via USPS to a personal address in Moscow sometime during November. The suit made it there safely, and there weren't any terrible delays to my knowledge.

The first ten days of january are public holidays in Russia - might be one of the reasons for the delay. Do not lose your hope yet...

My Christmas / New Year present which my girlfriend ordered for me in December from Europe also arrived in Moscow some days ago.
