The Americans on FX

Anyone else watch this? Really promising pilot. Hits some of the same notes as Homeland, but with a fairly unique premise. Nice blend of action/suspense and family drama. FX is really killing it these days.

I'd like to watch it... why the F doesn't FX have it up on their website yet??

She's pretty sexy in the show. I definitely want to keep watching.

I've never seen Homeland, but this show looks promising. I love how the neighbor guy is the same neighbor from the Truman Show.

I watched the pilot last night and loved it! Looking forward to the next episode. High expectations for this series.

I really enjoyed the pilot and look forward to the rest of the season. Seeing Keri Russell as a bad ass was nice.

Yeah, thanks! As I mentioned in the post above yours, I watched it a few nights ago.smile.gif Hopefully there's not much delay in FX getting tonight's episode on their website.

the show is great so far. one of the things that I like about it is how its so obviously shot in NYC (a lot of brooklyn and some queens shots)....so even if the story/plot location is the Washington DC area, the wife and I will instantly recognize the NYC location (like the parks or buildings) where the actual filming is.

the one thing I think about is how it might be better to finish the whole story arc in one season like a BBC show. because before you know it the story will to too cumbersome when drawn out over 6 years.

the caviar scene was nice (irony and sadness because it was impossible to be nostalgic).

what usually gets me is when I think about the timeline... I say to myself.. what if you two just wait it out until 1991? then go back to the homeland and become uber rich russian mobsters like a lot of ex kgb did after the revolution. they'd probably end up moving right back to the US anyway.
