Critique this suit please.

Hello.

I just got this suit today. It's 100% cotton. I would like to know how it fits.

Also, I've attached the label picture of this suit. I am very confuse about the size. The jacket says 40R, while the pants says 44R. I believe it is a Zegna tag, so it must be an Italian size? but do they make a jacket in size 40EU (roughly 30R USA...)?? If so, how could I possibly fit into the 40EU suit...

Please enlighten me.

Thanks!

Anyone experienced these kind of tags?

that doesn't look too good. The shoulders are way to structured for a cotton suit in my opinion.

I've uploaded more better fitting pics.

As of the label, I've been confirmed that they put a wrong tag in it. It supposed to be 44R (EU).

Button's too high, jacket's too long, you don't have the shoulders to support a lapel that wide.. IMO

I think it the camera's angle. The jacket cannot be long since it is 29 inches, and I normally wear 30 inches jacket. This one looks like a short in real life...

we have no idea how long your legs are to judge the length of jacket

Exactly. Commenting on the jacket length is meaningless without a full-body shot.

If the suit was made by Zegna, who was it made for? Dunhill?

As for the fit, it's 99% better than most of the suits on the street.

Criticisms:
Fit:
-Waist is too tight. See the back shot. You have minimal/zero "wearing ease." This can be let out easily by a tailor.

Stylistic (personal preference):
-Ticket pocket is huge/not proportionate to the rest of the jacket
-Button point is too high. The waist indentation doesn't sit at your natural waist

Agreed.

I was trying to find the year to see if it was Tom Ford era Gucci, but cannot see that well. If anyone is using a bigger screen, perhaps they can chime in more with tag indicators.

It doesn't necessarily mean its Tom Ford era Gucci, even as recent as Last year when TF had been gone a long time Gucci was still releasing the wide lapel, ticket pocket, 5 button cuff suits

Thanks. I have pretty much ignored Gucci menswear for the better part of 8 years.

I'm not very good with fits, but I like the look of it. Looks like a nice summer jacket. I would either unbutton the top shirt button or put on a tie however ;)
