those are pretty sharp, how does the sizing compare to Alden Barrie last? Is a Carmina UK 9.5 = Barrie 10D or 10.5D?

UK 9.5 is slightly tighter in the toe box compared to a Barrie last 10.5. They are like a 10.25 barrie, if that makes sense.

I got mine from Paul Friends too...love them. Super comfortable. Theyre on the Oscar Last so I took a 8.5 for my US9D feet....they fit great.

 

Ive put a lot more creases on mine though..
