Agree. If it covers your suit jacket, then the only thing that matters is whether it's cool.

I saw a guy on the subway(NYC) yesterday with a Barbour type jacket that came up to HIS WAIST over a suit! I am not talking the regular length Barbour type jacket(and I am not sure it was that brand).....but this came to his waist..Totally absurd!

I would say that this is a very Euro or even rather Italian look - saw this a lot down there!

In all seriousness, I don't see the problem if the weather is serious enough to demand serious gear.
